@JenniferS by the time you got home did the boys already have arrangements for you cabinet to be fixed and the money for the repair on the kitchen table in cash?
I have a good one... I was one of three cousins born on the same day, in the same hospital, by three different women. There was Steven, Normand and myself. Sadly Steven only made it to 9 months before he passed from cystic fibrosis. Normand and I shared birthday party's for quite a few years and then the family had a falling out and I frankly only saw him once, very briefly, just before we left NY state and went to Vermont. Skip ahead about 10 years and I had come back from Vietnam and met my wife while taking a night course at UVM.Mike has two sisters who share a birthday, exactly 10 years apart. Annnnnd, they each started as a twin.
Cue the Twilight Zone music.
Neither. It just needs wood glue. Ski has some. Somewhere. He says it’s a 15-second job.@JenniferS by the time you got home did the boys already have arrangements for you cabinet to be fixed and the money for the repair on the kitchen table in cash?
What was their excuse for not having it fixed before you got home?Neither. It just needs wood glue. Ski has some. Somewhere. He says it’s a 15-second job.
I'll ask . . . how did it break?Neither. It just needs wood glue. Ski has some. Somewhere. He says it’s a 15-second job.

Not surprising Prince Harry nowhere to be found when Royal Family with new King and Queen were at balcony waving to the crowd. Harry immediately left after coronation to catch a commercial flight back to California with Archie's birthday this weekend.I didn’t get up for it (or rather, STAY up for it), but I have now watched the coronation twice.
Random thoughts:
The music was beautiful. I love all the pomp and pageantry. In a world where Cardi B sings about her privates in the most vulgar terms imaginable, we need some civility.
Everyone looked so dignified. The clothing and uniforms were regal.
Canada has announced that King Charles will be placed on the $20 note and all coins. I would have thought that was a given, as that is the currency that currently features the Queen’s visage.
Charles should have married Camilla in the 70’s. Don’t like her; never will, but they do seem very happy together.
70 years, 214 days. Charles is the longest-serving heir apparent.
Not sorry to not see Meghan. Don’t like her; never will. I only slightly feel more kindly toward Harry. Again, they do seem to love each other. For now anyway. (Yoko: I broke up the Beatles. Meghan: Here, hold my beer.)
The Sovereign Grant costs each citizen of the UK $1.29 pounds annually. Cheap as chips.
From Wikipedia: “Contrary to public rumors, at no time do Canadians "pay money" to Britain or to the Royal Family. The only tax dollars that are spent on the monarchy are for the Vice Regal offices and Royal Visits, much like we would spend on visits of other international dignitaries.”
And now I’m done stalling. I have so many chores to do! Happy Saturday everyone. And …Long Live Our Gracious King.
Wasn't his choice. Due to the fact that he wasn't a "working Royal", his father did not allow him on the balcony with the rest of the family. Not surprising Prince Harry nowhere to be found when Royal Family with new King and Queen were at balcony waving to the crowd. Watched the entire Coronation (on BBC coverage this morning). Loved all of it. Was glad that Harry did attend, even if briefly. (I read his book and have some insight into the family challenges, down through the years.)I didn’t get up for it (or rather, STAY up for it), but I have now watched the coronation twice.

Chuck the geriatric upstart was born in November 1948. He is just about 4 months younger them me. So that makes him 74 and whatever number of days that is. It took him all those years to get his first job.I didn’t get up for it (or rather, STAY up for it), but I have now watched the coronation twice.

Did you say please? They wouldn't let me take any of them home as souvenirs.
I read that the coronation crown weighs almost 5 lbs. (Camilla’s - less than half.) That’s a lot of weight for 3/4 century old necks to support for an extended period.Chuck the geriatric upstart was born in November 1948. He is just about 4 months younger them me. I watched a little of it and I guess that smiling is forbidden when one is being Coronated. Did anyone besides me notice how often he seemed to pitch forward when he was sitting. Just a minor jerk forward like what you see happen in It's tough to be a bug" at the end.
I enjoyed watching the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the processions. What a smart-looking group, and I always liked their red jackets. Their horses were beautiful.I read that the coronation crown weighs almost 5 lbs. (Camilla’s - less than half.) That’s a lot of weight for 3/4 century old necks to support for an extended period.
The Canadian commentators I watched drew attention to the fact that neither Charles nor Camilla were able to tilt their heads to watch the red (looked pink to me), white, and blue jet smoke, lest the crowns be jostled.
Charles’ crown is reputed to be worth between £3 BILLION and £5 BILLION! (Camilla’s coronation crown is worth a mere £400 by comparison.)
There’s more than one reason for the saying “heavy is the head that wears the crown”.
Problem with protesters nowadays is they wouldn't be happy with anything less than directly on the route. Plus you never know if they are going to do something more than shout or wave signs.I enjoyed watching the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the processions. (Oh, just adding here -- there were some protestors (somewhere) along the parade route, and they were asked to leave by the PD. Some were arrested. Too late now, but II wish they had been granted a (specific location) to voice their opinions, versus just being removed. )
Side note only -- I recall (over here) some years ago, there was a political thing going on; and protestors were given a specific area to express their points of view. They didn't prefer the location, but it was a compromise. (May or may not work over there, but just a thought.)Problem with protesters nowadays is they wouldn't be happy with anything less than directly on the route.
