Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

For anyone so inclined, I'd like to ask for prayers for my friend's daughter. She was assaulted a week or so ago. She went to a karaoke night and some guy kept flirting with her and offering to buy her drinks, which she declined. Then he went to the bathroom and handed her his wallet and told her to order them both drinks, which she did not. When he came back, he accused her of stealing his money, and created a large enough scene to get them both kicked out, which I think was probably his plan and how the employees didn't see through it, I don't know. But when she walked out, two girls who she didn't know, thought something was off and they followed her out. They checked on her and as she was upset, they were about to call her mom, when the guy jumped out from between two vehicles and threw one of the girls down and kicked her and stomped on her. Then he punched my friend's daughter in the face and knocked her out cold. The two girls were able to get between him and my friend's daughter, and he attacked them, knocking them over on top of her, at which point he was pulling their hair and punching them. A bouncer came out and broke it up, called the police and an ambulance. The man was arrested and I guess he did admit to assaulting all three girls. Em was taken to the hospital and I guess she was unconscious almost all the way there. She doesn't remember anything until she woke up in the ambulance. They did a CT scan and didn't find any broken bones, but she had a concussion and a laceration in the inside of her cheek that caused an infection. She has had surgery to repair that. Apparently the two girls were fine other than being shaken up, but I hope they got checked out by a doctor since he was punching and kicking them, too. Poor Em looks like she has a softball stuck in her cheek. There were two guys standing outside who watched the whole thing and did nothing to help. It doesn't even sound like they called the police or anything. Just watched like it was entertainment. Makes me sick. But prayers and/or good thoughts for Em's recovery and to bless those two heroic girls that they are watched over and protected would be appreciated.

Wow. That is sooo freakin’ messed up on so many levels, that I don’t even really know where to begin.
So, off the top of my head, I’ll just leave it at the below…
If something similar happened to one of the women or young ladies in my life, I’m not exactly sure how I would handle the shear rage I would be experiencing.
I’m not totally sure how the justice system works in your country, but if that sack of excrement isn’t locked up for a very, very long time they’re doing it wrong.
Finally, and most importantly, I hope and pray that your friends daughter, and the other two young ladies, recover both physically and emotionally as well as possible, and never have to go through anything like that ever again.
All the prayers the world can spare for all of them.

Also, most everyone I know is sick of Kelce and his girlfriend.
Both my left and right eardrum needed counseling and therapy for months after being exposed to him singing "Viva Las Vegas" during last years Super Bowl victory. The fact that our TV speaker system survived that incident is a miracle in itself. Sound almost ceased to exist when he hit those notes, in what seemed to be screams of joy mixed with shrieks of pain, all tied together in the worst NFL moment I can remember. I'm still unsure if he was trying to be a rockstar to impress his girlfriend, or simply imitating a dying hyena. Don't try to search for it on YouTube or Google. You may never be able to unhear it.

A moment of silence for those like me who did hear it. 🥺

He is, but bummed about Buffalo losing.
It’s kind of a requirement of living in SW Ontario to have the Bills as your second favourite team (at the very least). Also, most everyone I know is sick of Kelce and his girlfriend.

I was rooting for KC in that one (Mahomes is from Texas ;)), but it was definitely no blowout, like the first game.
And, ditto on your last sentence. The vast, vast majority of actual football fans don’t give a flyin’ flip about that Swift chick.
Which reminds me of something I’ve noticed in more recent Chiefs games…
She still gets some (still too much) camera time, but the sportscasters don’t comment anymore.
Looks like they finally got the memo…!!! ;)

Yep, sounds pretty torturous. My sincerest condolences ;). Thankfully, I dodged that bullet.
I don’t watch the playoff or Super Bowl post game presentations anymore, I just turn the channel to something else.
All the, mostly, platitudinous drivel just drives me bat stuff crazy…!!!!! 🤪:hilarious:

4.1 Earthquake in Southern Maine

Now a 3.8 or 3.9

@MinnieM123 Did you feel anything? I didn't here.
Nope -- I was out hiking in the snow-packed woods in a conservation area, at the time it hit the ocean -- up in the York, Maine area. Heard that some people down the coast, a few as far as PA felt "something" -- nothing dramatic as it was fairly low (final figure was 3.8) on the Rickter Scale.
