I only have two criteria for where I go. Walmart for everything except beef, chicken or seafood. I will buy ground pork there a lot which is something I use a lot to cut down on my beef consumption. Around here besides Aldi's we have Publix, Food Lion, Harris Teeter and a smaller local chain named Lowe's (like the hardware store). I usually buy my meat products at Food Lion. Yesterday I bought a great Cod Fillet that had just reached it's sell by date, originally priced at $8 for $1.99. It was the nicest piece of Cod I have ever found this far inland. I find Publix and Harris Teeter over priced for almost everything. I sometimes just go to them for a change of pace, but very seldom buy much.
We have about a 100,000 sq. ft. Walmart here that just finished a huge remodel. As often as I go there, (multiple times a week) I never saw anyone working at the remodel. They did it all at night and was never a hassle other then the fact that they move almost everything. In a store that size you can spend a lot of time trying to find something you want and always knew where it was. But apparently this has been the time of the remodel because every store seems to be doing it and if they are doing it during the day, it is a real obstacle course just to get around. In Walmart they even changed the floors in the entire store and everything was like no one had been there and all the floors were redone without interrupting the flow of traffic in the store. Quite impressive.
