Thanks. This too shall pass. I just wish I didn't have to put other people at risk.
I'm sorry to hear that! Where dh works it's all the same flu, cold, stomach bug, covid: If you're sick stay the heck at home or else and wear a mask when you return. I have a lot of things to say about how it's been run over the years but their policies on anything contagious has always been excellent

Yeah, I was 25 when mom died and I asked to get a mammogram and they said I was too young. That the youngest they knew of someone getting breath cancer was 28, and my tissue would be too dense anyway. They wouldn't do one. I got my first one at about 35 because of my family history. I asked my doctor if I could do one for a baseline. Then I've had two more because of things I found in self exams, but it was always just regular tissue. And with my history, over here, they do screenings every year or two after you turn 50.
I have dense tissue also, so baseline at 40; another at 45; and then yearly since 50.

We don’t pay for screening here. The benefit of socialized medicine is that it’s cheaper for the gov’t to provide regular screening and hopefully catch it early, when it’s much less expensive to treat.

Enrolled in Obamacare women over 40 can get free screenings .

In other news, I am positive.

I did a test this morning. Seemed fine. Went back to bed.

When I got up, the second line was faint, but definitely there.

I guess that’s why you wait the full 15 minutes.

To be fair, I am no more sick or less sick than I was a week ago, so COVID or no, I feel crappy. COVID just gives me an excuse to not get dressed.

Our high temps this year...

Back in the 1980's when I started to go to Florida in February I started noticing the change and made the comment that to me it was changing and things seemed to be reversing. Case in point it was 26F here in central No. Carolina this morning. It is warmer up north. Perhaps before to long I can go to Vermont in February to escape the cold weather. :arghh:

We had to pick up our Christmas steaks today, while Mike is still negative. About two days earlier than I would have liked, but what can you do? They were fresh cut today by the butcher, so they’ll be fine.

Porterhouse this year vs last year’s T-bone. We’re running out of healthy bodies here, so I asked my brother to pick up the two restaurant GC’s I hadn’t gotten around to getting.

In other news, doesn’t look good for getting dressed today either.

I'm officially on winter break. The day before break is always exhausting with class parties. But overall, it was fun. We did a reindeer craft in the morning. I thought it was going to turn out like crap, but it was actually really cute. It's one of my favorite crafts I've ever done.

Then we played some Christmas games. In the afternoon we had treats and watched Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Enjoy your break. I have one more day. We are running a "half" schedule with all classes until 1pm and then games and movies in the afternoon. It will be a hectic day. I have a bunch of stuff to grade so I'll be going in tomorrow because I do not want to do it over break.

@JenniferS I hope this evening finds all of you doing better and M still negative. That and I hope the boys are only breaking each other and not your house or things in it.
Thank you. They’ve been sniping non-stop at each other. I had a rough day in terms of coughing, but I’m making tea and going up momentarily. I recently discovered “The Gilded Age”, so that will be my treat to myself for not killing them.

{{HUGS}} You picked an excellent reward on a very good day as it was just renewed! No spoilers but the last couple of episodes of season 2 which imho is the better season is just going to blow your mind! I have that, Picard and The 10th Kingdom penciled in as binge watching should we get snowed in this winter.

I've had it for almost a week and E had it for nearly a week before I tested positive. I was symptom free for three days after testing positive. DH isn't even testing. There are no regulations here anymore. When I told my boss I tested positive, she told me to come in anyway, but then she found someone to work for me, so I didn't have to. But there's no rule that you have to quarantine or anything so I have to go back tomorrow, even though I still have the stuffy nose, etc. It's not really bad. I don't really get a cough with Covid like most people. But I really don't want to give it to someone else who might get it worse than I do. I only have a stuffy nose, but someone else could get severely sick. I hate that there are no restrictions in place. I can't call in sick unless I'm really sick, and I'm not. And since this is a new job, I can't afford to risk appearing "unreliable" by calling in sick for a whole week or longer. I wish I still had the excuse of "I'm in quarantine."
How are you feeling now? Did you go back to work?

I watched two episodes last night and the night before, but only one tonight. I’ve just finished my second tea, and it’s now off to sleep.

Happy last Friday before Christmas everyone!
