I got one and it was defective within 3 months of buying one it wouldn't shut up, no smoke no fire wrapped it in a towel called Kidde and they wouldn't replace it. I wont buy one of those again I went back to the battery one and test it monthly and it works great

Physio has come and gone. Literally just got me to stand and shuffle to the right, shuffle to the left, take baby steps forward and back, and get back into bed.

Tomorrow is the big physio day.

I’m sending Mike home to sleep, and I’m going to do the same after I’m done icing.

Not silent all the time, just while we're sleeping so we're not disturbed. Like how we can switch our phones to silent or vibrate at will. The last thing I want if I'm in a good deep sleep is to be suddenly awakened by some alarm screeching at me. The way technology has evolved with our phones and other gadgets, you'd think smoke alarms would also. Just set to vibrate at night, check in the morning for any Missed Fire alerts, and turn sound back on. Simple.

Yah, and they could also have a default siren that would go off no matter what -- ONLY IF there was an indication of either smoke or carbon monoxide -- regardless of any time of day.

Wouldn't while you are sleeping be the most important time to have it working 100%. If you're awake you can probably see the flame. Just asking!

Good point if it wasn't so damn easy to avoid. Don't wait until it starts to chirp before you change the batteries.

Up here, we are advised to change the batteries every time you adjust the clocks for Daylight Saving Time.
