Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I’m on “regular diet” so I can have anything I want.
Problem is - I don’t want anything.

I even declined a large Timmie’s.

I’ve had two crackers and a popsicle. That will have to suffice.

Your body is telling you what and how much to eat. It's in the healing process, and doesn't want too much food to take away energy, from trying to heal the surgery areas first. Please note however, it's very important to keep hydrated, no matter what. Even if you're not to much into tea or milk, please be sure to drink some extra, plain water. This will make you feel stronger. I'm also wondering if they have some sort of nutrition drink (something like Boost for example), that might help build up strength, while you're unable to eat much solid food.

So just go with the flow, and your appetite will return eventually (when you get home).

I hope you're feeling a little better this morning.

Why in the pluperfect hell would anyone ruin tea by putting milk in it. I can understand coffee to try and tone down the nasty that is the taste of coffee, but tea? 🤢 On an unrelated subject... how are you feeling today? Was the first walk an adventure?
I think I’m going home today.

Not going to lie - I thought this was going to be a bit more of a smooth sail.

The good thing is - with this procedure, each day gets better. I’m almost through the worst 48 hours.

Mike is bringing up the La-Z Boy to the living room, and I think he plans on sleeping on the couch beside me, until I’m able to move up to the bed.

I let the pain get way ahead of me the first night. I won’t let that happen again.

Thank you. I’ve been drinking a lot, which unfortunately means I have to use the potty a lot.
Unlike most people on the ortho floor, I can toilet myself, I just can’t get back into bed.

I did use the walker to use the big girl potty twice yesterday - and wash my face and brush my teeth. That always helps you feel more human.

Sounds like a plan.

I'm off to church now -- will say a few prayers for you today. :)

Maybe.
Man, that looks good! Is that hospital food? Wow, the idiots just to the south of you should pull their heads our of their collective butts and realize that socialized medicine might have some pluses attached.

When I was in the hospital a year or so ago, they brought in something, I have no idea what it was called, but it looked pre-eaten. One of the Doctors came in to see how I was doing and he saw it on my tray and said... "What in the hell is that"? I told him I didn't know but I suspected it was scraped up off the floor in the diarrhea ward. I'm humorous like that when I'm ill.

:hilarious:

Mike ate it. He said it was really good.
I have always generally really enjoyed hospital food.

Hopefully I get oatmeal or cream of wheat for brekkie. I think I would eat a spoonful or two of that.

It’s up to physio and pain management whether I get released today. Mike’s brother had a knee replacement, also on Friday, and he’s in at least until Monday or Tuesday. He’s feeling much more poorly than me.

Don't feel bad about wanting to fight pain without drugs. I am the same way and have paid for that stubbornness more then once. My oldest daughter had three children, at home, no drugs at all. Even I thought that was silly. If we have the way to make things a little less hurtful, why not use it. I mean, three kids over a period of 11 years is hardly going to make one an addict.

When I had my leg surgery I spent most of my days in a recliner. I still have the chair but I don't use it at all. I have been La-Z Boy'd out, so to speak.

Right now I live in my La-Z-Boy recliner!

Adam just brought my lunch - everybody uses their first name here, including the doctors.

Anyway, I said to him - Thank you. I’m leaving shortly. Let’s see what you’ve brought me that I’m not going to eat today.

It smells delish. Hopefully Mike eats it.

@JenniferS , you up yet? (Figured you'd be sleeping in, so I didn't want to disturb you earlier. It's 6:40 now, and I thought that was about the time you'd be up and hobbling about.)
Good morning!

My bladder woke me. Meds in an hour.
Mike and I slept in the living room - me on the couch, him in the La-Z Boy.

It was supposed to be the opposite, but I can’t operate the chair. Problem with the couch is that I need him to swing my legs both on and off. He’s supposed to go to work today. His boss said that there is no one to fill in for him, so if worse comes to worst, they’ll just close his office today.

Either way, I’ll muddle through. I’d prefer him to be here, as the first few days are when I will need the most help while I get stronger every day.

I had some Lipton’s chicken noodle soup and a popsicle yesterday. Will try to eat a bit more today.
