We're home, BTW, and there's lots and lots of snow on my front lawn. Apparently Mr. Sunshine did not get my message...
I'm hoping most of our snow melts this weekend. The problem is we're supposed to get rain, too, which will cause lots of flooding with the melting snow. It will be a while before we can even look at grass without seeing a big mud pit.

When I lived in AZ it was even more confusing. AZ does not do DST, but the Navajo reservation did. The Hopi reservation which is within the boundaries of the Navajo reservation did not either. So I'd leave Flagstaff to drive up to Hopi to tutor, but if I had to stop on the Navajo reservation on the way, I had to stop and remember what time it was there.

This reminds me of a trip to Hoover Dam. There's a spot where you can stand in two states (the line is there) for Arizona and Nevada -- and two time zones! :joyfull: (Big thrill . . . :hilarious: )

A surgical cancellation popped up, and Ski was number one on the list!

All done. As far as we know, they only removed from the bottom of the nail and up. This was best case scenario!

He received a little more than just “freezing”. He got a brachial plexus nerve block (through the neck) as well as sedation. The nerve block lasts for 8-12 hours, so he should be quite comfortable until later this evening. After that, probably not so much.

He is quite relieved that it’s finally resolved, and true healing can begin.

Mike is sick as a dog, so he dropped us off and sat in the car for 5 hours! And now, it’s nap time for everybody.
Well, glad that's over. How long of a recovery time is he looking at? Will he be able to go right back to what he was doing before the accident or does his job have to be modified?

We are supposed to be doing a door decorating contest for Read Across America week. I didn't want to, and I'm tired of not being allowed to do fun things in 1st grade, so I decided to do something like this for my door "decorating".

This is not mine, but the concept is the same, just with picture books and on a smaller scale. It will probably go into April, but so does the real March Madness, so whatever. I'll read two books to them, then they vote on which one they liked better. The winner moves onto the next round. We'll keep going until we get a winner!
Very cute, but do you have a very wide door? I love the concept....what fun things are you not allowed to do in 1st grade?

Edit: Is there a theme to Read Across America week?

I have concluded that nothing seems to make you folks happy. To cold... to much snow. Warm, but raining may cause flooding. warm and it is unbearable in the classrooms and at home because most do not have AC. I think it important that y'all get some counseling and try to pick a season/constant weather situation that you like and google locations while packing for relocation. Otherwise there is nothing that will be able to make you smile. And it really is sad to go through life that way. 😉🙂 The time to do that is when you are young and have less to lose, because later on it is a much bigger risk and way harder to do.

Where is this “constant weather” place?
I choose 82F, full sun all day ... 62F overnight ... light showers every other night to keep things fresh and green.

Question for anyone who might know. Tomorrow is ADR day. My brother’s trip overlaps ours for 5 days (in the middle) and for some reason, he and his wife wish to spend those days with us.

His ADR window doesn’t open until 3 days after ours. Can I take advantage of our 180 + 10 day advantage and make ressies for 4 even though there are only 2 on the resort reservation?

Or, do I have to just make them for 2, and then when we reach their actual 180 (no plus 10) try to modify to 4?

Hope this makes sense.

Yes, you can. We usually have 4 in our room, but sometimes my parents and brother's fam drive up from south FL to meet us. So some of my ADRs on day 180 are for 4, some 6, some 8, some 10.

Yes - my cousin often comes to meet up with us but we never know when so I book ADRs for 2 additional people and then call to scale back where need be.

You can make them for as many as you need, though for larger numbers the site is unreliable. I ended up making all of ours for 10 because my brother does not seem to understand the necessity of ADRs and fastpasses and didn't take the many many hints to create an account on MDE. But I had to call because the internet site wasn't working for the large number. But calling was SOOOOOO MUCH easier! I didn't have to toggle back and forth to get to the restaurant I wanted, make the reservation, then get back to the list. She just entered them one by one into the computer, got all the ones I wanted within minutes and then took my credit card number for verification and it was done. I think it took like 10 minutes for like....14 reservations.
Last time, I made our reservations for 6 because I had friends joining us for some of the meals and I didn't know which ones, and they do not charge if some people don't show up. It's not considered a cancellation if some of the party is there. So make them for everyone and then if some opt to go a different way on some days, it's no biggie.
