A surgical cancellation popped up, and Ski was number one on the list!
All done. As far as we know, they only removed from the bottom of the nail and up. This was best case scenario!
He received a little more than just āfreezingā. He got a brachial plexus nerve block (through the neck) as well as sedation. The nerve block lasts for 8-12 hours, so he should be quite comfortable until later this evening. After that, probably not so much.
He is quite relieved that itās finally resolved, and true healing can begin.
Mike is sick as a dog, so he dropped us off and sat in the car for 5 hours! And now, itās nap time for everybody.

Glad to hear that the finger saga is finally over for Ski, and that he is on the mend now. I hope Mike feels much better tomorrow. Is it the flu?

May I ask why? I love the extra daylight in the evening.
Iām hoping just a bad cold.
And thank you for your good wishes for Ski. Itās going to be a crappy night probably, but at least a clean surgical wound will heal much faster than the patch job they did in ER. They tried to save the tip, but I know you peeked at the pics - that thing wasnāt saveable.
Thank you. Today is Tuesday. I hope theyāre both feeling much better by Thursday or Friday.

Meh, I could take it or leave it. But what I hate is the change of time TWICE a year -- I wish they'd (whoever they are, by the way
) would pick just ONE time all year round. It's very disruptive to many people's sleep patterns, particularly for DST, because they're all groggy in the morning, losing that hour of sleep. Statistics show the number of car accidents goes up during the first 2 weeks of DST each year.
Again, pick ONE time year round, for heaven's sake!!
We are supposed to be doing a door decorating contest for Read Across America week. I didn't want to, and I'm tired of not being allowed to do fun things in 1st grade, so I decided to do something like this for my door "decorating".
This is not mine, but the concept is the same, just with picture books and on a smaller scale. It will probably go into April, but so does the real March Madness, so whatever. I'll read two books to them, then they vote on which one they liked better. The winner moves onto the next round. We'll keep going until we get a winner!

When I lived in AZ it was even more confusing. AZ does not do DST, but the Navajo reservation did. The Hopi reservation which is within the boundaries of the Navajo reservation did not either. So I'd leave Flagstaff to drive up to Hopi to tutor, but if I had to stop on the Navajo reservation on the way, I had to stop and remember what time it was there.
