Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Feeling sad for Ski. I wish he had accepted the advice of his doctor sooner. I hope he'll be o.k.
He’s like his mama - ever hopeful that things will turn out okay. In the meantime, no further damage was done. Just wasted a whole lot of time.

He’s young, fit, relatively healthy. There was always the chance that it might have regenerated from the inside out. It didn’t. 🙁

I had conferences this week too. It is nice to be done, I had 22 parent show up. I have 140 students. It was actually more than I expected. I do send weekly emails home so perhaps that is why not many parents came in.
Plus, you know ... cold, snow, winter.

Mike was shocked I got dressed today. “Are you going somewhere?”

I had 18/18 families show up! I was surprised. I was expecting 17 or 16.
Yeah Tuesday night there was some snow so that kept people way, tonight weather was below zero.

This weekend is going to be a lazy not dressed up time for me, pj's all the way!
Tomorrow is a school-wide pajama/reading day.

When I only taught one grade I scheduled appointments with parents and had a much better turn out. Now that I have 3 grades it is tough to schedule so less turn out. Fall conferences have a better turn out. Oh well we teachers had a good time hanging out and chatting while waiting for parents!

A reading pajama day sounds awesome. Next week is our cabin fever week with fun dress up days and games at lunch. I think we all have a little cabin fever so this is coming at a good time.

You have 140 students in 3 grades? That's a lotta kids!! :jawdrop: That's different from where I went to elementary school. Each grade had one teacher, who would teach all the subjects. So each teacher had approx. 40 kids, for the entire school year.

I have middle school and some high school science classes. So each class only drives me nuts for about 55 minutes then I get a new batch!🤪

Ski went back to the clinic today.
The doctor asked him, “So do you think we’re winning?”
He said, “I think so.”

She removed the bandage and said, “Nope, not winning.”

He’s scheduled for surgery on the 19th, but was put on the cancellation list if a spot comes up sooner.

Because of his minor heart condition, they’re going with local anaesthetic, through the arm pit which will freeze his entire arm.

She’s hoping to cut above the knuckle, but realistically, she said it will likely be below. 🙁

He’s fine. Ready for it to just be over already. To be fair, the doctor wanted to schedule surgery two appointments ago.
Well, at least it will be over, I guess. Not really the news you want to hear, but it could be worse. Will he still be able to do his job when this is all over with?

Let's plan on Sunday, then..flights to the Netherlands take a while...you don't want to get here and find it all gone.
We flew overnight Dulles to Schiphol on KLM, and had a heck of a time finding our hotel in The Hague in a rental car off of no sleep. Then had to wait a couple more hours for our room. The rest of the trip was great though. That was early Summer 1997.

This is why public transportation is your friend! I don't think I'd want to be driving in The Hague, even when I have slept!
