When my X passed away, my youngest daughter kept her ashes on top of the china cabinet in her house. Fitting since the cabinet and the stuff inside it were her mothers anyway. She was there from Sept 2016 to her "inurnment" in May 2018. My daughter said that for some reason she felt comforted by her Mother being there. Seemed odd to me, but, maybe I will get the same treatment.Absolutely nothing. They won’t have the cremains back until Monday anyway.
I gave her my credit card # over the phone so she can pay for the obit, and other than that, I am totally staying put today.
The church and luncheon have been arranged. We’ve decided to hold off on interment of the ashes until his birthday in May.
We need to start clearing out his apartment, but today is not the day.
I’m emotionally spent, and we still have to deal with Ski’s finger tomorrow.
