Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

The eagles were loving the windy afternoon today so we went out checking on them. I miss my good camera (especially the eyepiece) but these came out OK.

This guy flew right in front of us as we drove over by his favorite dumpsterIMG_5605.JPG

He wasn't very happy...

Meanwhile his mate was across the street keeping an eye on the nest

also not too happy...

We went over to the nest that we know has 2 eaglets, and no one was home at first - then Mom arrived flying right over the car when we went to leave. Unfortunately no picture of that one.

We journeyed on to a nest that was totally rebuilt from last year. The pair there is quite skittish and protective, probably because their nest last year blew down. Mom was on the nest when we arrived.

but soon flew up towards the top of the tree and called for her mate

He arrived in a silent swoop moments later and the 2 of them stood guard over the nest.

The final stop was at a very large and deep nest where you can just barely see the eagle's head looking out.

So that was our exciting day today. It was pretty neat to see so many in flight today after such a shaky start this morning.

No Denny's near me. They're all out in western MA locations. I just realized I've never been to a Denny's--even when on vacation in another state.
No Denny's anywhere near me. But I remember one year we drove to Florida to visit relatives and we went through I think it was Knoxville TN, and we decided to eat at Denny's, but the Grand Ole Oprey had something special going on and every place was packed and Denny's was out of just about everything. We'd order something....they were out....ok, then order something else....out of that too. It would have been easier to tell us what they WEREN'T out of.

Sounds like you were in Nashville if you were in the Grand Ole Oprey's neighborhood. But close enough.

It is absolutely POURING here today. I'm so excited to take my dog to the vet later. It's going to be awesome to have a psychotic wet dog in my car.

:hilarious:

Well, a least your vet didn't cancel.

We had that same heavy rain on top of all that recent ice/snow mix, and it was a river out there today. Vet's office called hubs and told him that our dog's appt. at 5 today was cancelled--something about the vet was stuck in a mega traffic jam, after running behind (at the local pet hospital) after a pet surgery,

Oh no!!

I dog proofed my car - garbage bags over the front seat backs, blankets over the back seats, blankets on the floors and duct tape to hold it all in place. He climbed in the back seat, laid down on the floor and didn’t move. Man was he mad when he got out at the vet!! He hates the vet. Did OK with the shots but it took 3 assistants to hold him down while the vet cut his nails and another assistant “cleaned up” after him. Then he laid on the floor again the whole way home. He’s been sleeping ever since. 😂

Our dog is exactly like that, too--totally psycho!
