Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

can it be repaired?
Not until we get back home in March at least. I'm just sick about it! I always have it in its case when I'm not using it, but I had the chip in the Chrome so I could download pictures, so I left it out on the desk to remind myself to put the chip back in.

Oh dear. Is there any place down there that could fix it for you, or is there only a specific (factory-authorized) place that it needs to go to, closer to home? Hate to think that you'd have to wait until March for a repair.

I have a warranty through the place I bought it from so I think I have to bring it back there. If it can be fixed, it will still be a couple of months after that before I'll be able to use it.

Oh, that makes sense. It's just a bummer that you're away for a few months, when this happened. Maybe you can also take some photos with your phone. Some phone pictures are actually quite good.

I have my other camera with me, but it's just no where near as good as the one I broke. No eyepiece, so I just shoot off the screen, which is a pain in bright light. I'm just so mad at myself right now!!

Glad he's OK. I couldn't imagine trying to bike in the snow!
Well, fortunately, since gas is SO expensive here, a lot of people bike to work, school, etc....you can't get a drivers license until 18 anyway, so students have to bike or take public transportation. Since biking is SO popular, we have special bike lanes and those are plowed and salted just like the streets, so most of it wasn't too bad. But they don't plow and salt in the residential streets...just the main streets, so that's why he was fine right up until we were already in our street.

Just to give you an indication of the bike thing:

That is the bike parking at the station here in town. As you can see, it's so full that people parked outside of the designated area..it's spilling out. And that striped line on the bricks there...that's the bike lane. (This was taken a few months ago) and all the way to the right of the picture, that's where the bike parking ends. And here's a close up of what it looks like in the bike parking itself.

But bike lanes also have their own stoplights and everything. It's a huge thing over here.

That’s so cool to see - thanks for the added details! It’s not at all what I had pictured in my head.

When we got off the train in Cologne, we'were all standing there awe-struck by the cathedral there, but one of our friends who was traveling with us blurted out - "Wow, look at all the bikes!" :joyfull::joyfull:

Now I have to go through my old Cologne pics to see if I see bikes. I think I may have been so awe-struck that I missed them altogether!
