Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I left my string bag on BLSRS last week - first ride in the first park of out trip. It only had bottles of water in it so there was no real panic but it always seems to be when I’m traveling and don’t have my normal pocketbook that I leave things behind.

It is a purse I don't use every day (lots of pockets to keep me organized), so I'll blame it on that! In fact I don't always carry a purse, depending on where I'm going, but I can't deny that I'm a bit of a rattlehead the older I get..

This is why any time I go anyplace, I wear a crossbody bag (I have a very small one, and a larger one). If it's not draped over me, I'll forget it!! :D

We need to plan a time for you guys to be in the crosswalk and wave for us all to spectate at. (Holding up signs with funny messages gets you bonus points).

Aside from having total de ja vu with that intersection...@Nemo14 also needs to go to the intersection in Jackson just a little farther up the road from this point and use the flags to cross the street.

I think this is like 2 or 3 blocks from the intersection with the antler arches and webcam. I don’t know why, but it cracked us up.

We could pretend we're one of those tour groups you see at WDW! Of course we'd need matching shirts too...

Since I'm up and DH is still asleep (it's only 5:37 here), I have a few minutes to reflect on the trip so far.

I fell in love with the West the first time I visited here, and in fact that visit was one of the major reasons for my brief move to Flagstaff back in my younger days. The vast open spaces, the amazing geologic formations, the wildlife, still inspire me and humble me in a way that no other place I've been to could possibly do. I know I couldn't live here now, but being back here has been an awesome experience for me. It warms my soul to see DH loving the whole journey so far, after my countless stories about my adventures here before we met.

Also, I must say that Wyoming speed limits are CRAZY!!! When approaching some pretty tight curves yesterday, the speed limit was reduced to 60! In Utah similar curves had a speed limit of 30.

Yeah...it was 80 nearly everywhere that we went...outside of the parks/forests. I remember approaching a few tight curves and saying little prayers that the speed limit would be 45 or lower...because my nerves just couldn't handle anything higher.

There are several trails on the visitor center grounds that lead to spectacular views but here are a few places I did not stand to get a better view...

It was an awesome place though, well worth the drive. On our way out, these 2 got a little too friendly, so we left before they could start gnawing on the car:

Bigger danger might be them head-butting the car, but probably a good idea to get out of there before they had the chance. Such a beautiful area! My end of the state is just....flat. Well, a few hills, and buttes, but nothing like these pictures.

I can't begin to tell you how panicked I was - fortunately DH kept a cool head and calmed me down.

So scary when you do that! On our honeymoon at Disney, we were wearing the mickey top hat/Minnie ears veil, and a CM who was in a van (maintenance?) saw us waiting for the train in the parking lot and said he'd give us a ride so we didn't have to wait. We got out and I left my purse in his van. Got to the gate and I was panicking, but the CM asked us to describe the driver, and she says "Oh! That's Ormando!" and she radios him and he says yes, he DID just have a honeymoon couple that he dropped off. He came back and I had my purse back within 5 minutes. I love honest people!

I'm so glad you got your purse and its entire contents back!!

I thought of that with the Old Faithful live cam next week actually.

I watch the webcam ALL the time! We were going to try and do this with my parents and the OF webcam, but we had an impossible time getting any kind of signal there during the day to coordinate. Crowds should be a bit lower now, so you may be able to do this more easily (i.e. less cellular demand). Alternately, you can always buy into the wifi pkgs.

You've trained them well.
The candy weighed too much for us to either pack in our luggage or carry on (between the 6 of us it was EASILY 40 pounds - no joke) and the Basin stuff CAN’T be carried on and I worry about it exploding in my suitcase - we’re lucky they drive and can bring it back for us (as well as anything delicate). So yes - well trained!!

My poor dog needs a sedative. We are experiencing a huge thunderstorm and he’s losing it. He’s laying on my bed and I have my legs over him like he’s an ottoman (although my knees are bent so I’m not putting weight on him - just making him feel secure). Poor guy. The little dog keeps bringing his ball on the bed and then slowly pushing it with his nose to the edge of the bed and making it crash to the ground scaring the big guy. Little guy is a bit of a jerk.
