Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Yes, it was. Unfortunately it happens a lot. People often don't see motorcyclists until it's too late. He was hit by a semi that ran a red light. It was dark and the semi driver didn't see him and decided not to wait at the light because there was no one there. I'm sure that's a decision that will haunt him for the rest of his life.
That's awful. Awful and unnecessary. Wow.

This morning we went back to where we could see the fire yesterday, then continued on that road and basically did a long loop around the canyon, crossing back into Utah for a ways, then back into Wyoming. The fire seems to be out but the valley was filled with smoke:

I noticed these footprints that were not there yesterday when this was a big mud puddle...

We drove on to see the Flaming Gorge Dam and Reservoir. It was just stunning with the red cliffs surrounding it.

From there we drove on to the Red Canyon visitor center, which was closed for no apparent reason. On the drive in to there, we came across this:

Our first ones for this trip!

There are several trails on the visitor center grounds that lead to spectacular views but here are a few places I did not stand to get a better view...

It was an awesome place though, well worth the drive. On our way out, these 2 got a little too friendly, so we left before they could start gnawing on the car:

You know you're a tourist when you see this coming down the road at you and your first instinct is to take a picture....

or when you stop to take pictures of Kokanee salmon because someone told you that they're spawning now...

One little trauma today though. We had seen an A&W on the way back, so we decided to get root beer floats, and drank them right there at the restaurant. I hung my purse on the back of my chair, then walked out without it. I realized it as soon as we got back to the hotel (our next stop), so we hightailed back, and much to my relief, the waitress there had spotted it right away, and locked it up in a safe. Everything was in it, licence, credit cards, cash, and nothing was touched. I was soooooooo relieved!!! We tried to pay her for her honesty but she would not accept anything, so I plan to write to their headquarters to reward her.

Most places like that won't let you accept tips. You could get fired if you do. I turned down a $5 tip at Kmart during my first year there. I accepted a $20 tip on the last day, though. Because what are they going to do, fire me? It was the shadiest thing, too. He handed it to me while shaking my hand like it was a drug deal. :hilarious: What I actually did was spent 4 hours checking him and his crew out. They go around to closing stores and buy almost everything that's left over on the last day, then resell it at a store they own in Iowa. By the time they were leaving, I was back in the office, so he asked someone to find me to thank me, the slipped me the 20...

But that's awesome that they had your purse!!

I can't begin to tell you how panicked I was - fortunately DH kept a cool head and calmed me down.

Have I mentioned what an awesome breakfast we had at this hotel? We're well used to the usual free breakfast buffets, but this place this morning had every breakfast item you could think of, including omelettes custom made fresh to order. Tomorrow we'll eat a late breakfast there and call it lunch!

Coyote or Mountain. Lion perhaps?
I think it's mountain lion, and the hoof one is probably an antelope.
