Anyone who has lost a pet, will appreciate the Rainbow Bridge. Thanks for sharing that.

My vet sent that to me in a condolence card about a week after he put down Kelso and then Jack.
It was actually much appreciated.

I truly believe in a "welcoming committee" when we get to Heaven that includes our beloved pets.

You will definitely have a welcoming committee when you get to heaven. Not so sure about some of the rest of us who won't make it to heaven though . . .

Our vet sent us a condolence card for our dog too, it was signed by all the people who worked there. Our dog had a lot of health problems so he was at the vet a lot and everyone who signed the card also wrote some little memory they had about him too since they knew him so well. A few months later we had another dog that passed away (he died at my sisters house while we were on vacation, and was 16 years old), when our regular vet found out about it whe we took our ramining dog in for a nail trim we got a condolence card a few days later. I really love the vet clinic we go to, they are very knowledgeable and caring people.

I also believe in the welcoming committee, and hope my past pets are having fun somewhere with the humans I have loved and lost.

Despite the fact we still have several days left before we even leave the month of August, I felt it necessary to put out my annual haystack a la pumpkin to welcome the coming of Fall to my humble apartment. Meet my roommates, Jack (above) and Jack Jr. (below).

And to top off the Fall / Halloween decor, I decided to pull out my trifecta of favorite Fall / Halloween-time movies to be watched over the next couple months.

I own 3 of the books you have on your bookshelf...possibly 4...

Hallowe'en, much like every other holiday around here not called Christmas, is a non-event.

Didn't overly like it as a kid. Hated it when my kids were in the costume/trick or treating groove. Am totally ambivalent about it now.

One of these years, I'm just going to shut off the lights and pretend we're not home. Maybe even this year. ;)

Christmas > Halloween by far for me also. I've always loved the Fall season ever since I was little, as it is sorta the kickoff to the Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years...a.k.a. the most wonderful 4 months out of the year. :D...a.k.a. far away from summer. :D:D

I scratched an itch today ... a 13+ year old itch!

Every time I go to the allergy clinic for my shots, I drive past the street of my dad's good friend who stabbed him in the back. I haven't seen or heard from this guy since June 2004, and my mother was freaking out that he might have the nerve to show up to my dad's funeral. (He didn't.)

Anyway, today I turned down his street, drove past his house, did the "Wullerton spit"; and will probably never think of his lying, thieving, self again. :)

I was thinking about this today, and I came to the conclusion that retro revenge can be quite satisfying. You go girl !! :D

Reminds me of a time that I ran into a few people in a mall, (they were students I knew back in high school -- this was about 15 years post-graduation, at the time). One of the women I despised back in school (she was really clique-y and stuck up).

Also, she really "let herself go" and looked twice her age that day. Meanwhile, one of the guys in the group immediately came over to me, had a big smile, and said, "Well, some people look even better now, than they did back in school. You look gorgeous!" I said thank you, and then looked over (with a smug smile) at clique woman. She walked away. :hilarious: I kinda felt like this:
