Actually we open on Christmas Eve this year since my daughter will be with her inlaws on Christmas day. When the kids were little we'd open presents from each other on Christmas eve, then anta stuff on Christmas morning.You open on Christmas morning?? All the cool kids open on Christmas Eve.
We go to sleep early.Santa doesn't come until after you go to sleep on Christmas Eve. How can you open the gifts if Santa hasn't delivered them yet?

I thought it was pretty weird too. We keep our tree up 'til New Years, but I am so done with Christmas stuff by then!
We keep ours up until NY Day, too. This year, I think it will come down on NYE because my mom has knee surgery shortly after the New Year.

The reason I remember this post is that I remember exactly what happened to me that day, and why I stepped outside and posted such randomness...
She's had knee problems in recent years. She's had a couple surgeries already, but there is loose cartilage in her knee that is causing pain and will cause her knee to lock up at times.

I've had issues like that, but I refuse the surgery - I really don't like doctors on the whole...

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Our's stays up until Orthodox Christmas - January 7th.
Coming from a Ukrainian background on my dad's side, that's how we always did it.
Hubby wishes I would leave it up even longer. Might be because he is the youngest of 7 children, and was at home for at least a dozen years alone with his parents, and they often didn't even put up a tree at all.
