Eventually they say she'll need an entire knee replacement. How long is the question.I've had issues like that, but I refuse the surgery - I really don't like doctors on the whole...

I've been avoiding one as well, but logic dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one. And, since I have family that loves me, I really should take care of my body, as it's the vessel I sail these turbulent seas of life in...so, better make sure the hull stays ship shape!I've had issues like that, but I refuse the surgery - I really don't like doctors on the whole...
One of my college suite mates was Ukranian - her wedding was awesome! Our's stays up until Orthodox Christmas - January 7th.
Coming from a Ukrainian background on my dad's side, that's how we always did it.
Hubby wishes I would leave it up even longer. Might be because he is the youngest of 7 children, and was at home for at least a dozen years alone with his parents, and they often didn't even put up a tree at all.
Wow, 7? That's a lot.One of my college suite mates was Ukranian - her wedding was awesome!
and I was the middle child of 7, so i was never alone in the house. I never had a bed of my own til I went to college.
Our wedding was awesome too. We had our reception at the Ukrainian hall; as did my parents in 1966, and two of my three brothers after me in the 90's.One of my college suite mates was Ukranian - her wedding was awesome!

Yup, 2 older brothers, 2 younger brothers, 1 older sister, 1 younger sister and me.Wow, 7? That's a lot.
I'm the youngest of 2. I sometimes wish I had a bigger family, but then sometimes I'm glad to be by myself.
did you dance with the bread and all that? Our wedding was awesome too. We had our reception at the Ukrainian hall; as did my parents in 1966, and two of my three brothers after me in the 90's.
Granted, this was almost 21 years ago, but we paid $13 a plate for an indescribable feast. Hall rental uncluded. Had to pay $75 for their bartender but could supply our own booze.
That's what rhubarb does for the ol' constitution!Y

I guess I know one family who has 13 children, I believe it's all from the same parents, too.Yup, 2 older brothers, 2 younger brothers, 1 older sister, 1 younger sister and me.
In my small little town, I graduated with a girl who was one of 8 and another who was 1 of 12. Pre-pill.I guess I know one family who has 13 children, I believe it's all from the same parents, too.
There was like one person of Polish descent that married into the mass of Irish that is my mom's side. But they managed to carry over the tradition of leaving the tree up until the Eastern European's Christmas. So growing up the tree stayed and outside lights are up and on until then. Our's stays up until Orthodox Christmas - January 7th.

Nope. We didn't get married in the church upstairs - just used the hall.did you dance with the bread and all that?

We got married in a Roman Catholic convent, of all places. The entire choir loft was jam packed with nuns.
My parents were married in the Ukrainian church. Their wedding album shows that they both wore crowns in a very traditional mass, conducted entirely in Ukrainian. Nobody on my mom's side of the family understood a word!
My mom used to make me stewed rhubarb with custard when I was a kid and couldn't "go".That's what rhubarb does for the ol' constitution!
Lesson kiddos...eat your rhubarb!

Merry Christmas, Nemo! Have fun with your family, and don't forget to BM if you get a gift you don't like!I have to get going here - my son and his wife should be arriving soon, and my daughter will be here in the morning. My son-in-law has to work tomorrow, but he'll be taking the train down here after work. So I don't think I'll be on much for the next couple of days anyway.
Have an awesome Christmas everyone!
