I went to turn on my laptop and the screen was working, it was just very dim. It looked like a start up window had popped up. I couldn't read anything though. It was barely noticable. I'm letting it sit a while more to see if it can dry out a bit more.

So I took the keyboard off, and it's going to sit there over night. But after looking on the internet more, it's leading me to believe the LCD inverter got damaged. I read that someone had my same exact problem and that's what it was.

Oh gosh. I did that to my iTouch about a year ago but managed to dry it out after leaving it in a bag of rice for 3 days. It was a year ago and the only problem is the screen isn't as bright as it used to be. Still works! But I also didn't touch it for three days and then plugged it into my computer and the computer detected it, so I did a reset and it fixed it. Hope all goes well with your laptop!

I'm losing hope for my laptop, but all the problems that I've read about are relatively cheap fixes. Each part seems to be around $20. Tomorrow I'm gonna try and hook an external monitor up to it and see if that works. I want to get a couple songs on my iPod from iTunes before the trip yet.

Yeah...I researched it a bit also and that does seem to be your next step.

I'm using my laptop today, but I hooked it up to my TV, and it works fine. The laptop screen itself is still very dim, but everything else seems to work completely fine. I'll probably just use it like this for now and deal with it after the trip. I'm not worrying about it too much!
