When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I really wasn't going to say anything but it's bothering me. I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way at all but I'm a little surprised at the prejudgement here of people who have tattoos. It's a personal choice. Not all who have tattoos are losers. Some get them in memory of love ones passed, military service, personal battles or their children.

My sister and her daughter just got pink ribbon tats because they beat breast cancer. Not everyone who has tats wants to be a professional sit at a desk suit and tie guy/gal. A very cool (and very tattooed) friend owns a successful concert bar in my area. He makes more a year than a doctor friend. Maybe it's because I don't judge people because they have tattoos, piercings, dreadlocks, dyed hair, redneck beards or are just a plain jane/joe. Anywho, I'll be quiet now.

Not judging. Just don't care for the look of them.

Two small victories.

One, after three days of back and forthing with Beelne, Inc (makers of smurf village, the game I was hooked on) over the loss of a village due to the hard recover/restore of my iPad and wanting a refund, I contacted Apple/iTunes and got a *full* refund for all in app purchases. They said the game makers are/were required to make sure games are backed up to iCloud, and since this one wasn't (and my other games did, and are fine) they gave me a full refund.

Cool.

Two, the temp agency called to see if I could do a very temporary, one day assignment tomorrow. Yep, of course I can. One day or not, it's better than nothing.

And I guess it matters, but interview with Macy's next week for a neat position (visual merchandiser) followed by lunch with a friend. Woohoo.

Temp jobs might sometimes help.

I know some companies use "temp" job positions to see if new employees can work the way they want.. and then hire.

That it was. I currently hate them at the moment and will never give them money. But it's a beautiful campus.. think it cost $49,000 to be an on campus resident now. I got the school for half off, cheaper when I was their (35000), because my cousin is a Sister of Mercy. If not, I would have gone to UMaine. Which probably would have been better. Sigh.

Seaview Terrace (or Carey Mansion) is back into a private home. Sophomore year, when we went to look at dorms, I was so freaked out about the mansion, I took a few steps in and walked right back out. I still worked there as a work-study checking people into the dorm. That was interesting sometimes being alone til 2 in the morning if a freaky building.

My dorm freshman year, brand new dorm, actually set school back a week so they could finish it. A plastic cup was in the middle of a table. When I woke up, it was on the ground.
===========================================================================

--Carey Mansion, supposedly a nun hung herself. The room is boarded up and every month a priest has to come in and bless the house.
--McAuley Hall, is haunted by a little boy who fell out of a window while watching his parents arrive by boat.
--Watts, Adam, a young boy who supposedly lived in Watts and fell down the stairs, after chasing a ball in the annex. Supposedly the little boy was a son of William Watts Sherman but there is no record indicating that William Watts Sherman produced any male heirs.
--Wakehurst - that on the night of the first snow fall, you can see a young woman pushing an antique style baby carriage around the property. A man walking from window to window on the top floor of Wakehurst, which at the time was not in use and was only for storage from the activities office. Story of a ghost dressed in equestrian gear who lives on the third floor.

I think that's it for now.

That was fascinating reading! Thanks for sharing.

Do you use the lids? We have over a dozen of the tumblers. When the lids are used, outside on a hot day the ice will stay put in them for hours. My DD puts hot tea in them and will stay warm for over 3 hours.

Hey, what lids?? I got gypped!  Do they sell lids for the coffee cups? I know they do for the tumblers, but haven't seen any shown for the coffee cups. That would make a lot more sense to have a cover, as that would definitely keep the coffee hotter for a longer time. I also really like the size of the coffee cups, too.

Agreed. I was just sharing my opinion on the other side of the tattoo spectrum.

You presented it well, and it's good that you shared your thoughts. Just one comment: I don't think anyone here, however, would ever think that someone who chose to get a tat would be some kind of loser. (Actually, I've known plenty of losers who never had any tattoos!! :p)

It's just a personal decision, that's all. Tats are good for some people, and not appropriate for others. I've seen some really nice ones, and also seen some hideous ones. All that matters is that we respect the individual for the talents that he or she has, and try to look beyond the ink to see the real person. :)

The only real problem with tattoo is that they are an emotional, at the time, desire and expression of oneself. Sadly, (or happily depending on our outlook) we do not stay the same person all through our lives. As we get older, our experiences have shaped our lives far more then our emotions have, we find ourselves in a bit of a pickle. We are now sporting a symbol of something that we may no longer believe. Someone once described to me the difference between a conservative person and a liberal person. A conservative person is a liberal person that has been kicked in the butt by life.

A young girl, for example (not meaning to limit it to women, but, that is what comes to mind at the moment) might have something suggestive permanently affixed to a part of their body not exposed constantly. That young girl eventually grows up to be an adult, who may become a mother, who may become a grandmother and as we are all so well aware, infants and the elderly are sometimes cared for in exactly the same way. And there it is, in all it's now wrinkled, but, still identifiable glory for all the world to see. Hopefully by then we have all become senile and don't really care, but, I think you get the picture. That point in time can come at any time between tattoo and death.

So...many...jokes...to make! :hilarious:
My normal online wakeup service has started repeating the pictures so the past couple of days I've had to hunt down something to take it's place.

I debated posting that one as it wasn't purely PG rated.

I have several more in the queue for next week also....mostly PG...If I offend please let me know and I will tone it back down. I certainly don't mean to offend.
