Yeah, without knowing what you are doing your ankles are going to sag over but the boot is strong and the leather is tight around the ankles so it does support, like skiing you just need to learn control.
Great! Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can get in and make it work with my schedule.

Funny you mentioned skiing. They are also offering skiing for PE credit. While ice skating isn't bad and when I did it in WDW, I had no trouble with my asthma, I'd be concerned about skiing. Unlike Elsa, it turns out the cold really does bother me.

Cross Country skiing or Down Hill? Either, boy the weather sure plays into that. I love to ski but I don't think I'd want a class of that, especially for credit.

I avoid the news entirely. Problem solved.

;) I havent a clue what's going on, I have enough to worry about on a daily basis.

I like it better this way.
I'm the opposite. I love reading the news.

I took two years of advanced journalism in high school and wrote for the paper for those two years. I loved it. If I thought I could make a living being a full time writer, I'd pursue it. Alas, there are too many who have the same dream.

Anyway, I kind of got into the habit because we were supposed to be reading the news to learn how to write our own stories, and if we had nothing else to do, we were supposed to be reading the news. My last few months at it I really got into it because I basically was eating lunch in the journalism lab (I had a late lunch, so I'd eat at the beginning of class and then didn't feel like going to the cafeteria, especially since it was across the school and my next class was just down the stairs from the journalism lab), so I was there for almost two hours and sometimes would run out of stuff to do, especially since my journalism teacher had me doing a lot of editing. So I got into a habit of reading the news.

It's a skill that has served me well in college. When researching, I'm better able to pick out the legitimate news from the phony news and identify bias more quickly. The writing ability from Journalism has also served me well

Meh, not that this is earth-shattering news, but in the interest of sharing every single detail of my life, I forgot to tell y'all:

Last Wednesday, I had a brutal allergy day. In between sneezing, blowing, wiping, rubbing my eyes, blowing some more ... I knocked out my nose pin.

Sadly, my nose was sooooo sore, that I couldn't slide it back in right away. I froze my nose with Emla cream, and tried to put it back in a half hour later. Despite my vigorous attempts, the hole had completely closed over already.

So, for those keeping track, that's strike three.

While I won't miss the upkeep and the PITA process of washing my face twice daily, I do miss how cute my tiny little nose stud was.

No offense to anyone who has them - but:

Ugly now. Ugly then.
I agree. Have never understood the appeal of tattoos. To me, it just doesn't look good. I don't think it looks professional at all. I would never get one myself. I also think it's best that those who choose to get one get it in a place where it's visible only to themselves, their significant others, or if they are on the beach. Of course it is a personal choice. Just my opinion.

My 9th grade biology teacher grossed us out with tattoos. They completely lost their appeal for me after that.

This has been an awful allergy season for me. It's a constant thing. Also a lot of colds. No stomach virus though. I usually get one every September since first grade. I'm expecting revenge at some point.

My mom had an infection in her second hole in her ear. It closed up. She keeps saying she'll poke it back through, but then doesn't. At this point, it just needs to be redone.

As for me, I still want to work for Disney. They only allow the traditional ear piercing. No others.

A visit to Australia is on my bucket list.
Not likely to happen with Hubby though. At 6' 8", first class is the only way he can survive any flight in excess of 4 hours. And unless the money fairy pays us a visit some time soon, Australia isn't in the cards.

Ottawa is great. We go for a week every couple of years.
Dinner at Darcy McGee's on Spark Street, followed by beaver tails in the Byward Market. It doesn't get any better than that.
Their Haunted Walk is pretty cool too.
same here.
I honestly dont think I can handle anything above 9 hours of flight time.
my legs (thin veins due of chemo and radiation) might get me killed by blood cloths.
