I see you have a direct view to the "castle" federal building. I read its for the FBI right? (tall silver/black tower on the left)

Nope! That's PPG. one of several all glass and steel buildings making up PPG plaza, which is home to, err, PPG itself, Pittsburgh post gazette newspaper, a lot of financial institutions and lawyers as well. Reed smith has a sister location there, as does PNC and a few others. :)

The FBI headquarters is actually in southside. It was built in the last fifteen years or so, and stands alone. Literally. There's nothing else around it for a good three hundred or so feet. It's...odd, and out of place.

There is a CIA headquarters downtown but no one is supposed to know about it (I do, I have friends who work there) and several other...govt. agencies.

But no, they're not in the tall shiny black buildings :)

Gotta love that Puppy. Determined.

Ha! You have a full life of entertainment with those two.

I love this dog!

Have you tried the websites of the park district, city government, postal services, school districts, country government, state government? You have these skills for hundreds of openings that by law they must post on websites. Just thinking out loud.

You have good interview skills woman!

I have! But thank you for thinking of me :) I have resumes saved everywhere and I've reached out to a vast network of contacts, people who work in county offices, firms, big corporations, smaller companies, chains, and even my friends bosses to see if I can get any leads. It helps to physically place resume in someone's hands.

I guess you can say my desire and drive to land a solid lead and a great job are my driving force to making it happen. I think all day long of my approach and tactics and I have lists everywhere of names and companies and ideas. It's borderline obsessive.

Today after my crappy interview I asked my roomies boss for a few minutes (she really likes me) and chit chatted then asked if she knew of anything, explained my situation, my skills and abilities and my eagerness to dive in head first. She pulled out her personal planner and didn't hesitate to write down names and numbers of five...five!! FCU CEOs that she personally knows and told me to use her as a reference.

If I have nothing else, I have network abilities going for me. It helps to get a little creative sometimes.

@JenniferS those buildings look like giant sand worms lurching into the ground, ala Dune.

Ha! You have every right to be borderline obsessive, we all like a roof over our heads and food in our tummies. Plus those pets want their kibble.

Who is he going to root for? The Leafs?

Yes, his most prized possession is the jersey and cap I picked up for him from MSG.

I may have told this story before but I like it so here it is (possibly) again:

Years back I was at a Rangers game vs the Capitals with my friend. A few minutes into the 2nd period a woman taps her on the shoulder and says her seat was selected to play in the "Foxwoods (Casino) 777 Challenge" between periods. Well she decided she was too embarrassed to do it so she sent me. So I went down to ice level and watched the rest of the period with the other 2 contestants. When the period ended the entire Capitals team walked right by us. Then they led us onto the ice to the blue line where we each got 5 shots to try to get a puck in net - there was a piece of wood blocking the net with 3 slots cut out - just about the size of a puck. If one went in we got $777 and moved to the red line. If one went in from there it was $7,777 and we moved to the car blue line. A goal from there was $77,777. The first guy went and all 5 shots missed the net and he was booed!! Then I went and all 5 shots went on net but none went in. I have no idea what the guy after me did. I was scanning the crowd for Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman who were at the game. I got a shirt, a keychain and a game used puck. No money but it was priceless.

Fantastic! Wanna put in a good word for me? I'm a hard worker, a serious multitasker; I'm able to be in ten places at once while doing ten things at once and I got my resume on hand. Willing to relocate. Proficient in both windows and iOS and know how to effectively run an office. Five years management experience.

Wish I was joking, but I'm not. Hire me. Please.

I've posted pics of it before!! I love this building...but I really need to grab some pics of the county jailhouse downtown for you. It'll floor you! H H Richardson, it's beautiful.

I'd take you up on that if we really needed it, but, unfortunately we don't right now. :( Our present OM is a real go-getter just like you, but, she also has the added advantage of bein' one of the partners SIL.
As an aside, I think you'd really like it down here in weird ol' Austin, though. :)

Thanks for sharing! I've appreciated the architecture of that building, and others like it, for a long time. :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Awesome story.
Even better because it was not spoiled by a Cruise/Kidman sighting.

Oh wait, did I say that last part out loud?
