We just have a better vocabulary. We are, after all, New "England". I have a book about the RI accent and it's so funny. Written by a Chicagoan too. Well, was from Chicago. I have an accent but not a strong one.

And I know this is political but don't shoot me. Buddy Cianci. Look him up and you be like WTH!

Reminds me that some programs calls the american english as "Simplistic".

So its like:
US English (Simplified) , Uk English ( Traditional )
just like Chinese as 2 main variants lol.

I envy you guys for getting insane discounts on cell phones.
We still need to suck it and pay full price most of the time :(

imagine paying 700 USD for a phone.. That is WITH FORCED 2 YEAR CONTRACT.

without plan.. the iphone 5s is 1,100 USD and the samsung galaxy S5 1,150 USD.
Geez. And I have a hard time paying $180 for my phone...(midline Smarphone that would probably be free on a plan...but my dad isn't willing to pay for a plan, and quite frankly, I see why)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
You also had me at scallops with bacon. I don't think there was anything else after that.

If Disney had that in one of the buffets, I would get my monies worth on one food. I eat tons of shrimp at Trail's End. Like seriously, a whole plate full.
I don't like scallops.
I posted a list of foods I don't eat. I suspect it was before you joined us.

Which just goes to prove that you did not go back to the beginning of this thraed.
Says the girl who has yet to catch up on everything she missed last week.
And probably isn't going to bother to.

I don't care who ya' are, that right there's funny...!!!!! :joyfull: :)
My grandma is hysterical. Has an iPhone, texts more than she talks, and still does not know how to type with her thumbs. My mom is just as bad. This was a conversation we had when she got her new phone set up:

Mom: Texting from my new phone!
Me: How long did it take you to type that?
Mom: Would u believe...30 seconds?
Me: No
(five minutes later)
Mom: Would u believe...3 minutes?
Me: I don't think so
(five minutes later)
Mom: How about 30 seconds with trained monkeys?
Me: Yeah. That I believe.

Who needs thumbs?
I type on both my phone and iPad with my right index finger. Only.

My mom types on her iPad as if it's a real keyboard. Her phone she uses one index finger on. I'm like, "You realize that would be much faster if you used your thumbs?" And she says, "I make too many mistakes using my thumbs!" To which I say, "You go back and fix your mistakes at the end." And she says, "I can't do that. I must fix them as soon as I make them."

My phone that I'm getting rid of this week has a pop out keyboard. It would look ridiculous to not use my thumbs on that keyboard.

Have you seen the size of my thumbs?

Pretty sure I've mentioned that I have ginormous hands.

From outstretched thumb tip to baby finger tip, I measure just over 9 inches.

Wow, I never imagined they did such parties in the US.

Here they usually wave good bye as they kick the "retired" out of the door to hire a young kid as fast they can lol.

Well, unfortunately, there's some of that as well here in the U.S., too. But not in all cases. Yesterday, the woman retired because she was ready, not from being forced out at all—she had been there for over 40 years, and was happy to finally lead a slower-paced life, and take time to smell the roses. And as a side note, it would probably take 2 people (young or old) to replace her, as she was one of the most efficient and valuable people that ever worked there. :)

OMG! Deja vu !! My brothers and I used to make blanket forts in our basement playroom. Those were so much fun; we'd grab furniture, boxes, fold-up laundry racks, brooms, shovels, baskets, blankets, towels, sheets—really anything at all. Each one of us tried to outdo the others by making the best fort.

And, we had rules . . . no entry without the proper password. This was serious stuff! :hilarious:

P.S.: This is what kids did for fun before computers came on the scene.

Hey Sir! How is your new school going, any concerts coming up?

Hello! New school is great, but CRAZY busy. Guess that's what happens when you walk into one of the top programs in the state. We have 6 Saturday marching competitions this fall. 3 already done, 3 more to go (plus football games on Fridays). Our big gig is Oct 25th at Bands of America regional championships in Delaware - which means we are rehearsing every day for the next three weeks except Sundays.

I only get to sneak on here some early mornings and Sunday nights, but always enjoy the ride!
