Here's a pic that I hope will cheer up @Soarin' Over Pgh a little... :)

The security guard walked by a total of one time during my two point five days there. And he didn't look into the office.

Those are certainly not jobs for everyone. Especially me. I guess I'm too sensitive or care too much. I dunno.

I'm really depressed today.

I hate call center jobs..not for me. One type of job I would never want. But always after interviews, I feel depressed. I'm not sure why.

Disney vacation, listening to songs or anything like that...doesn't make me happy anymore

Not a techie. Couldn't operate a Blackberry to save my life.

I'd had an iPad 2 for 3 1/2 years, so when it was time to upgrade my do-nothing LG Banter to a Smart phone (2 years ago for my WDW trip), I stuck with the operating system I knew.

The first decent phone I had was an LG Shine. After that a Crackberry Torch, which I really liked.
But, I REALLY LIKE my iPhone...!!! :)

I agree with the sentiment but I obviously took @Soarin' Over Pgh recap post and description much differently than you did. It didn't seem as if that group of employees cared about the patients or their co-workers. My hat doesn't go off to these ex coworkers of hers.
Sometimes you cope with things in whatever way it works. If you get to wrapped up in the emotion and drama you will burn out very quickly. There is nothing wrong with an attitude that on the surface seems to by uncaring, when caring is actually happening. It's when everyone sits there and does nothing that a problem exists.

If they have found a way to psychologically cope with the crap that is thrown at them, then my hat remains off to them. It is obvious that Soarin' Over is not equipped with the type of temperament that is required to deal with that stuff day after day. That's OK, as I said, not everyone can do that. But those people are in there grudgingly or masking their real feelings, and making a difference to those most needing it. That should be commendable.

Actually, IMO, both you and @Goofyernmost are correct in your perspectives.

Gabe, you were spot on: the management didn't do enough to protect (or care) about its employees. Even just the comment that the manager made to Soarin, on her first morning, about the patients was disrespectful and giant red flag. This was obviously a difficult, and sometimes dangerous, patient population they were dealing with at that location; and the situation was out of control. Where the heck was the security staff?! Some of those patients should have been immediately escorted off the property, while some others reported to local law enforcement to deal with.

I can also understand what Goofyernmost was sharing. I agree that there are certain people that can deal with a very tough element of the population. Somehow, these people have a unique set of coping skills to deal with incredible adversity. Some people just have a really tough persona, and can roll with just about anything. I, too, am grateful for those types of individuals, and appreciate them for their abilities, in these types of challenging situations.

Let me share an example of how challenging situations should be handled—because it can be done. In our emergency unit (which is very large, and always busy) at the hospital, all types of patients arrive. Sometimes, the staff deals with dangerous people—intoxicated, drugged out, and some mentally unstable; while some others arrive in handcuffs, with police or prison guards' escorts. Some patients are combative toward medical and administrative staff, yet we also have a highly trained, security staff (ex-military, some came from local police depts., and some are state troopers, who work there part-time). Security is always right there protecting the staff, and that shows respect from the top management down. Bottom line: unacceptable behavior from patients is not, and will not, be tolerated and it is dealt with—immediately.

And obviously I misunderstood part of @Soarin' Over Pgh post and possibly because of the micro-urban area I live in. My imagination had her in a clinic/doctor office type setting vs a hospital. While every hospital I've entered there is security but it is very limited. I have never ever seen security in any of doctors offices, immediate care centers or surgical centers. Someone acts up the police or sheriff is called. Even with security at hospital law enforcement is called. Kinda like Disney, they have security but the Sheriff responds for any crimes as Disney Security does not have that power.

the problem is not the glass, its the metal frame. And if it bends too much, the inners are ruined (probably the glass compresses the internal components)

Yeah, I'm not too concerned as this was claimed with 5 too. Considering I sit on almost all waking hours and there doesn't seem to be an issue. My DH is a back pocket dude too. My kids stuff theirs in their front or sometimes side pockets. My DS has had 3 versions of the iPhone over the years and none have ever had issues beyond the button failure and the battery not staying charged as they approach year 2. Apple replaced my DD iPhone a year into life for button failure and Apple replaced my DS Apple days before it hit its expiration 2 year marks. My DS was immediate new phone on the spot and DD they tried resetting and such, returned a couple days later she got a new phone too. So far I've found Apple to stand behind their products. Now Dell, that is like talking to a cable provider.

Oh gods, that Jambalaya looks stunning! Speaking of food, Any good place near WDW that offers Jambalaya?
I might be making a list of "must have food at all costs" when I return to WDW in February!!.

At Port Orleans Riverside they have the sit down restaurant called the Boatwright. Not my favorite restaurant by far but they have a real good Jambalaya, I believe theirs is served with rice though vs noodles which is more traditional.

Bonfamilles a former Table Service at Port Orleans Resort (now French Quarter) had this Jambalaya prior to the post 9/11 lengthy shut down of PO. When PO came back online the two resorts were merged. and one became the French Quarter and the other Riverside (prior Dixie Landings.) At this time only Boatwright remained and Bonfamilles was boarded up, literally. The seating area, booths, everything still remains intact inside that restaurant and the kitchen became a test kitchen for Disney Chefs. The Jambalaya Bonfamilles signature meal was moved over to the Boatwright.

that is usual in every country that depends almost entirely on tourism. Even Mexico as its very bad zones.
keep in the good zones and you should be ok.

Exactly. You don't start wandering around and the resorts warn you not to explore out of the immediate tourist areas. So many countries have had issues with people coming off Cruise Ships that wander from the anointed excursions when they dock too. Coming into any country and telling them how to run their land especially as an American and your almost begging for trouble. Wandering you are easy pickings.

Well that looks fun! You must also be talking about The Seven Lady Godivas book? If that was drawn in today's world, it would probably be considered graphic. Heck in today the women would all be buxom stick figure shaped. I have respect for him drawing some full figured ladies.

For our Seuss breakfast, I am getting Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts. I thought that would be a cool photo op. :)

I understand what you are saying about full figured woman completely. These painting unfortunately were more in a humorous (which I didn't find humorous) view of full figured women naked. Half dozen characters needed to carry the full figured woman laying face down and 'chestage area drooping downward, big tushie poking up in the air. My DDs first response was 'Oh My.'

The T-Shirts sound perfect!

I'm not sure to which statement this applies, but sometimes I say things because it's funny. Anything that sounds too outrageous to be true that I say, take with a grain of salt, especially those statements that sound like I'm deliberately giving too much information. Odds are I said it as a joke and is not necessarily true or maybe highly exaggerated, even if I have pictures to back it up.

Friend, that is a lot of work for me. I'm here to have a bit of light fun. Having to parse someones post to figure out what is real and what is a joke or an exaggeration is a lot to ask.
