So I had a bunch of your comments quoted from the past handful of pages, and just went to "insert quotes" and got a completely random quote from another thread.

Lame.

But thank you all for the kind words and thoughts. I just have to hope that when one door closes, another opens, and proceed forward. Today my "temp" job ended and... I'm pretty nervous. My rent is at least covered for next month but other than that, not so much. I've been applying like crazy and had a few interviews yesterday that I'll hear back about by the end of the week, but still. It's nerve wracking.

However, it's better than the nightmare I experienced for two and a half days. The pay was great, and now I understand why.

And thank you for the lovely comments on my art, I do really appreciate it. My show is on Sunday and I'm so not prepared, but...I now have a few full days to get things done since I don't have the temp job. Bittersweet feeling on that, I guess. I just hope the open house goes well because I really need a little luck right now.
The quote system seems to save whatever quote you had, even from another thread.
Sometimes its confusing.. sometimes its lifesaving.

I'll probably do what I did on my California trip whenever I met someone from Australia or New Zealand... I told them that New Zealand serious needs to become an Australian state. No need for two separate countries that are right next to each other that speak the same language and share the same culture and the fact that NZ is the size of Australian states! They told me it's the same as Canada and the U.S. I said it's not the same because the U.S. and Canada are the same size. It's more like if the US state of Vermont was its own country. That would make no sense...

Any way, no fliers... Lol... I'll just talk about it with everyone I talk to there who speaks English!
not to be insult or pick up a fight, but.... comparing these two countries and claiming they're the same, is very uneducated and rude.
that like telling finland they are the same as Norwegians or Finland guys.
or Argentinians to Uruguay and Paraguay citizens.

Then we went to American Doll and some other cool stores in WaterTower Place, lunch at Cheesecake Factory and had the awesome jambalaya noodle dish that was large enough to feed a family. Wish I could have brought it home with me.
th

DD had cheesecake ate about half and it had piles of fresh whipped cream, I couldn't stuff any in. :( Walked past the Apple Store with lines out the door and around the corner for a new shipment of the iPhones.
And off to the Mega Disney Store on the Mag Mile. They had every single Disney Princess dress and accessories. Both my DD and I noted the material is getting a bit too cheap for expensive little costumes. Some are almost transparent, not good. Not much big people stuff now as it is all about Halloween. Last stop before heading back to Union Station was of course Garrett popcorn, cheese and caramel as usual, gallon size. :hungry: View attachment 66681

Oh gods, that Jambalaya looks stunning!

Speaking of food, Any good place near WDW that offers Jambalaya?
I might be making a list of "must have food at all costs" when I return to WDW in February!!.

But with tougher upgraded Glass screen this time around.
the problem is not the glass, its the metal frame. And if it bends too much, the inners are ruined (probably the glass compresses the internal components)

I agree with the sentiment but I obviously took @Soarin' Over Pgh recap post and description much differently than you did. It didn't seem as if that group of employees cared about the patients or their co-workers. My hat doesn't go off to these ex coworkers of hers.

Actually, IMO, both you and @Goofyernmost are correct in your perspectives.

Gabe, you were spot on: the management didn't do enough to protect (or care) about its employees. Even just the comment that the manager made to Soarin, on her first morning, about the patients was disrespectful and giant red flag. This was obviously a difficult, and sometimes dangerous, patient population they were dealing with at that location; and the situation was out of control. Where the heck was the security staff?! Some of those patients should have been immediately escorted off the property, while some others reported to local law enforcement to deal with.

I can also understand what Goofyernmost was sharing. I agree that there are certain people that can deal with a very tough element of the population. Somehow, these people have a unique set of coping skills to deal with incredible adversity. Some people just have a really tough persona, and can roll with just about anything. I, too, am grateful for those types of individuals, and appreciate them for their abilities, in these types of challenging situations.

Let me share an example of how challenging situations should be handled—because it can be done. In our emergency unit (which is very large, and always busy) at the hospital, all types of patients arrive. Sometimes, the staff deals with dangerous people—intoxicated, drugged out, and some mentally unstable; while some others arrive in handcuffs, with police or prison guards' escorts. Some patients are combative toward medical and administrative staff, yet we also have a highly trained, security staff (ex-military, some came from local police depts., and some are state troopers, who work there part-time). Security is always right there protecting the staff, and that shows respect from the top management down. Bottom line: unacceptable behavior from patients is not, and will not, be tolerated and it is dealt with—immediately.

TMI = Too much Information.
A way to tell other politely that they shouldn't be disclosing this much information everywhere.
As there are things that should never be shared.
I'm not sure to which statement this applies, but sometimes I say things because it's funny. Anything that sounds too outrageous to be true that I say, take with a grain of salt, especially those statements that sound like I'm deliberately giving too much information. Odds are I said it as a joke and is not necessarily true or maybe highly exaggerated, even if I have pictures to back it up.

My DD and I couldn't get over the ugly Minnie dress at the Disney Store

Wow, that's terrible! :(

...this. I have nothing but the greatest respect dr those who can wrk with mentally I'll, drug addict, homeless, anger management problem people but I am not one of them and neither was anyone at this office. I guess they built up a tolerance to the patient base but the language used towards them was appalling. The language used towards me was very off putting and uncomfortable.

I really need to catch a break. Preferably soon. Winter is coming. I need a solid, good job immediately and...I'm starting to think I need to leave this city. I just need one company that's decent to hire me, lord knows I've put enough resumes and applications out there.

Hats Off to Dr Seuss was really good. I love all the real hats and the statues from his collection were wonderful too. The prints Sale were quality but most were $3000-$10,000. My DD and I picked out several we would love to own but ouch! Seuss never sold his paintings other than a couple tied to charity and generally these never leave Mrs. Seuss' home. They also had a wall of Seuss characters with their 3D heads mounted on wood, like a hunted deer, they were hilariously silly. My favorite part. If I had a spare $6000, 2 would have gone home with me.

The hat he is wearing was in the case and the Cats hat.

The event was smaller than I thought but I highly recommend it if it comes to a town near you if you are a Seuss fan. Unlike the Walt Disney exhibit earlier this year the Seuss one was FREE! But in the interest of full disclosure...Seuss had a thing for painting unclothed large ladies as characters in the same paintings as the typical character included paintings in one section (middle) of the collection. They are whimsical but a surprise. So it went from the cute 3D heads on the wall to that ....
Well that looks fun! You must also be talking about The Seven Lady Godivas book? If that was drawn in today's world, it would probably be considered graphic. Heck in today the women would all be buxom stick figure shaped. I have respect for him drawing some full figured ladies.

For our Seuss breakfast, I am getting Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts. I thought that would be a cool photo op. :)

I absolutely agree and wanted to say something but didn't want to stir the pot but since you did, I'll comment. My best male friend is a native Aussie. "That's absolutely ridiculous." is the only comment he made while shaking his head. Then he went on to say, "The government is different, the currency is different, the culture is different, the mindset of the people is different, we don't even fly the same !$@#! flag.":joyfull: Touchy subject.

But hey, Cubans speak Spanish so they should become a part of Mexico? ;)
