Oh Wow! My friend was legally blind without contacts in. He had corrective eye surgery a few years back. He said the best moment after was waking up and seeing the time on an alarm clock, something that never happened in his 40 years.

Yep, being able to see the time on the clock was the first thing DWifey excitedly mentioned when she woke up the next morning after her RK surgery, way back in the day. :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
@JenniferS have you seen that Mike Tyson has endorsed Rob Ford for mayor?

It's such a bizarre statement to see in print.
I did.
It may or may not matter, at this point. (Who am I kidding? Tyson's endorsement never mattered.)

Rob Ford was admitted to hospital yesterday. He has a large abdominal tumour. A biopsy is being done today. His brother (Councillor Doug Ford) was crying during a very brief press release yesterday.
Speculation is that it's very serious.

But . . . but . . . @Cesar R M didn't even get a chance to make a snowman, or pitch a few snowballs, or make a snow angel on the ground. He was deprived of much of the glory of snow. I am happy he saw it, but I only wish he could have enjoyed playing in it . . . I'm sad that he missed out. :(
you hit the nail's head.
Yeah, never had a chance to do a snowman, pitch snowballs or make an angel. (or even a pee painting lol!)

I agree. I was catching up and didn't realize at the time of writing that post that he only saw the snow at a distance. He did unfortunately learn all about the travel days our wondrous snow causes.
Well, I at least managed to see how the snow moves as it fell from the sky. It was pretty to see!

And on a different note: How is the new job going? Is it a good fit for you?
Sounds exactly when I finally started hearing again with my implant!
aaah.. the wonders of technology!

Here ya go!

Wow - I hadn't heard that. Sad when anyone falls ill. Cancer is awful.

I heard that this morning. Odd ball person now or not it is sad he is likely that ill. I can't imagine anyone taking stock in what Tyson has to say politically, if anything Ford would loose votes over association with Tyson. Tyson is a piece of work and that came off in his foul outbursts even his PR peeps could not get him to see the light. Punched in the head one too many times coupled with just being a man without class or respect for other human life his entire adult life. Jail did nothing to rehabilitate that jerk.

I have made snowmen, thrown snowballs, enjoyed making snow angels however at my advancing age I've never participated in pee painting. Not sad about missing out on that either. :cautious:

The big, heavy snow flakes are the best when falling out of the sky.

My daughter was born and raised in FL. The first time she saw snow, she was around 3 and we were in New England to attend my grandmother's funeral. There was a freak late April snow. She was excited to go outside to play in it - at first. I quote "Mommy, it's COLD! And it's WET!"

We returned again in November, and there was a freak November snow. I quote "Mommy, is it always snowing here?"

But, she still chose to attend a college where she would have snow in the winter. As did my son.

Awe. I just read that to my 22 year old DD that is a 2014 grad from the University of Illinois, miserable in the winter with open farms surrounding campus. She just had a phone interview with University of Florida and one the other day with UCF. After a brutal winter she wants to live in the sunshine state.

I needed that this morning. Cat was being SO BAD. Stealing papers off my desk, making a bunch of noise...and then when I would try to throw her out, it was suddenly, "No, please don't! I love you so much!" Then she would cuddle with me for 20 minutes and do the exact same thing! Eventually I stopped buying the, "I love you; let's cuddle" routine and tossed her out anyway
