Where in the World is Bob Saget?

@Cesar R M Let me also add, I refuse to join the Screenwriter's Guild. Basically, all screenwriters are expected to join and pay their annual membership fee (in the hundreds of dollars). In return, your work joins a pool of works by the other members and if one screenplay is bought by a studio, money goes to helping the other writers. It's kind of like employment insurance. The trade off is that you don't own your work and one talented writer usually is unfairly supporting the rest less talented writers. Not joining is my choice because I want to own the rights to my work and I don't want to share the money I could make with it.

Guild members despise people like me (99.99999% of all screen writers are members). That alone is a big warning to stay away from professionals, who no matter where I go are most likely members of the guild.

Just to let everyone here know, I am actually sharing things about me I've never talked about to anyone on this site in all the years I've been here. I've mentioned some odd and end things about my family and the people my relatives know, but I've mostly kept quite about me, preferring to focus my energies on things like monorails, for example. What I've shared so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

The same amount as companies making movies about aliens, robots, monsters, horror, etc..
there are just tiny variations of the formula of the main type of movie themes/schemes .
Yep.

And, what movie are we talking about?

Blair Witch 1? Or that crap that JJ Abrams turned out?

Well, since you know him, tell him he shouldn't have sold out. 2 and 3 were terrible.
I knew him. I don't know him. He was in my advanced screenwriting class and he was the president of the Cinematographer's Association (which I was a member of). He started with help from his family and really had no choice to sell out because he barely had any money to make the original Blair Witch Project with. That he's doing great now is nothing short of a miracle because of choices he made beginning with his days at UCF.

I recommend you read my last few posts to catch up.

Perhaps I will.

I will also note, this is the Saget thread.

It was born of silliness and sharp wit, and will thrive through silliness and sharp wit, not personal exposition.

Note, "catching up" with your personal life story should not be required, nor it is your personal dumping ground. There are other threads for that.

I love ya Peter, and share many of your obsessions and ideas, but while the people here are always welcoming, you should consider that...they are always welcoming. And a welcome mat does not always mean you are welcome forever.

This is a place to talk about everything and nothing. If you can embrace said nonsense, then you are welcome. If you can't, well, this isn't your chit chat thread to expound upon because you've been chased out of every other thread.

You are welcome here, without a doubt, everyone is. But, don't make this or chit chat your private sanctuary. You have a lot of good ideas, and a lot of good things to say. Focus on that.

Oh, of course not! Lol

Whatever gave you that idea!?!

Way back time machine. I remember those and we actually ate them off of TV trays. It was not often usually when my folks were going out. My Sis and I would be excited to eat in front of the TV as that was never allowed. They were all those little compartments and various stuff oozed from one compartment to the other. The food was really gross.

I'm also old enough to remember the grocer stamping prices on every food item.

You gotta admit, though, Swanson came up with a great idea. Thank goodness frozen meals have come a long way since then. The only negative is that the new ones don't cost 99 cents . . . :jawdrop:

Well I am sorry for the delays but actually glad you got to see snow. Everyone should get to see it once. And that is enough. :banghead:

But . . . but . . . @Cesar R M didn't even get a chance to make a snowman, or pitch a few snowballs, or make a snow angel on the ground. He was deprived of much of the glory of snow. I am happy he saw it, but I only wish he could have enjoyed playing in it . . . I'm sad that he missed out. :(

You do have many topics to share, and many interests. :) Just a gentle reminder that we have many wonderful people who post here from time to time; yet, everything on every forum thread is also open for public viewing. You know all that already, but a conservative approach to sharing personal types of information might be best.

I totally get what you're saying, but you know me I always do things differently. The story concept is such that it can be easily altered and stolen. Telling the story to people who make a living writing screenplays is a sure-fire way to have it stolen. Additionally, the story dramatized on the screen is meant to be told to an average person, not someone who will consciously dissect story and analyze it rather than someone who will be entertained and moved by it. Basically, the screenplay is like a Disney ride. It will tug on your heart strings, make you laugh, make you cry, make you feel frightened, make you feel desperation, make you feel isolated, make you feel jealous, make you feel elated, make you feel triumphant, make you proud, make you feel love, make you feel anger, make you feel forgiving, make you feel embarrassed, make you feel bashful, make you feel relief, make you feel secure, make you feel stress, make you feel tired, make you feel joy, and make you feel renewed.

Not exactly in that order and give or take some emotions. Lol. It will be a roller-coaster of emotions and I will be able to gauge everyone's reactions to certain lines and events to see if it's effective or not.

Stop the presses! That's too many "make you's"!! :jawdrop: I mean, if I tried to have all those emotions at the same time, wouldn't I, (at a minimum), be clinically insane?! Or worse, wouldn't I perish from the exertion of said emotional stress, causing me to spontaneously combust??!!

I can't see a gnat, or a rat, for that matter at 200 yards. Maybe at 2 yards; I've always been near-sighted and have worn either contacts or glasses. I wish I had great long-distance viewing like you have!

One of my cats is currently lying about 6 feet away. Without my glasses, I see a slight change to the shade of color on the floor in that area.
