But . . . but . . . @Cesar R M didn't even get a chance to make a snowman, or pitch a few snowballs, or make a snow angel on the ground. He was deprived of much of the glory of snow. I am happy he saw it, but I only wish he could have enjoyed playing in it . . . I'm sad that he missed out. :(

I agree. I was catching up and didn't realize at the time of writing that post that he only saw the snow at a distance. He did unfortunately learn all about the travel days our wondrous snow causes.

One of my cats is currently lying about 6 feet away. Without my glasses, I see a slight change to the shade of color on the floor in that area.

Oh Wow! My friend was legally blind without contacts in. He had corrective eye surgery a few years back. He said the best moment after was waking up and seeing the time on an alarm clock, something that never happened in his 40 years.

And on a different note: How is the new job going? Is it a good fit for you?

Are your allergens not in Florida? My DD worst year was in Middle School. She went for a week to WDC with her class for a week (cherry blossoms) then we went for almost to weeks to Florida for my convention at Uni and another week at Disney all that Florida pollen. When we got home Spring was starting up here and her little lungs just couldn't take it. Three Spring Blooming Seasons was more than she could take.
They aren't usually as bad down there. I'm not allergic to the tree pollens there in the spring (thanks allergy shots). I'll have to deal with ragweed, but at least after I'm done the ragweed, the weather will still be good. When I'm done with the ragweed up here, it'll just be cold

Is that a hopeful sigh or envious sigh?

Kind of both. We are scheduled to go back in June, but as of yet I'm not sure I'll be going with them. Still need to talk to my allergist. I came home really sick from allergies there last time and ended up in the hospital once I got home due to the after effects. So I need to talk to my doctor to see what we can do about it, if anything. I'm kind of thinking he might say that he doesn't think it's a good idea.

Time to buy a battery UPS or power generator? :hilarious:
I mean I'm actually be sitting out watching it.

Just to let everyone here know, I am actually sharing things about me I've never talked about to anyone on this site in all the years I've been here. I've mentioned some odd and end things about my family and the people my relatives know, but I've mostly kept quite about me, preferring to focus my energies on things like monorails, for example. What I've shared so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

Well I am sorry for the delays but actually glad you got to see snow. Everyone should get to see it once. And that is enough. :banghead:

My daughter was born and raised in FL. The first time she saw snow, she was around 3 and we were in New England to attend my grandmother's funeral. There was a freak late April snow. She was excited to go outside to play in it - at first. I quote "Mommy, it's COLD! And it's WET!"

We returned again in November, and there was a freak November snow. I quote "Mommy, is it always snowing here?"

But, she still chose to attend a college where she would have snow in the winter. As did my son.

Thanks for the warning.
