Sometimes it's nice to have grown up in the 21st century...

One of the best things I can think of for my generations portion of the 20th century is we had some amazing music with one fantastic band after the other. So much better than Justin Beiber. ;)
Every generation has high and low points. I just like the fact that my flu shot barely hurt the other day...internet and tablets/laptops/iPods are good too. I do like some Classic Rock. Aerosmith is great. It depends. I'm not wild about a lot of stuff from my gerneration either

Any unexplained burned downed buildings where she couldn't be accounted for? ;)
Ha! In the neighborhood she lives in there are burned down buildings unexplained all the time.

My niece is a privileged child, understatement. She attends a very nice private college prep school since she was 4 years old, has vacationed on most continents and islands, ya get the idea. Yet she lives basically around the corner and down part of block from where the 3 women were held captive in Cleveland, not such a charming area. If my sister puts out flower pots on her porch they are gone in a few days. Someone dug up her hydrangeas while she was at work. Last month a lady and kids were pounding on the door in the middle of the night thinking it was the 'safe house' for abused women/families. (there is one but another block down.)

I hope your sister can eventually move out of that area; it doesn't sound safe.

One thing I love about having a vacation day off during the week, is getting out and exercising in the morning. We have a local nature area about 10 minutes away. I like climbing the (small) mountain, and I pick the rugged, rear mountain route, instead of the family-friendly paved road with switchbacks. It's more fun to be out there on the side of the mountain where practically no one goes; but it's also more interesting, because you get to scramble over rocks, and clomp through high grasses, etc. while going up to the top. Although, I think I might startle the animals a bit, as they're not used to humans in that more remote area. (Yet, sometimes, I feel more like a critter, myself, as opposed to a human! :p)

It is fun to look a the weird good and bad of a generation too. I was too young but we had Woodstock, the amazing 'We are the World Concert," brought "Junk Food" mainstream.

Oh Dear. Now my brain is going to be thinking about this for hours....:banghead:

How scary to live there. I hear that Albuquerque is a very dangerous place but I have been fortunate (knock on wood), to never have seen much.

Take protection with you like a walking stick and don't forget your cellphone.
