But didn't you just say, approximately 30 minutes ago, that you wanted to be awarded the status of Top Contributor?! You're completely changing your tune here now, and I'm beginning to wonder: are you one of those people with multiple personalities??!! o_O :jawdrop: I can't keep up with this!! Which one is it now—the sweet, humble, genteel, @Goofyernmost as opposed to the better known, rabble-rousing, barking at patrons on his bus or on his lawn, @Goofyernmost ?? :p
The answer, of course, is yes!
It depends a great deal on the position of the moon. :):grumpy:

Actually I think it is better to just leave it like it is. I feel that way because, as I said earlier, they don't really have a lot of influence on anyone and they are just harmless communications between posters.

The problem with contributors, in the sense that you are speaking, is that it is very hard to separate the bull from the left overs. Some are very factual through research and others, obviously, have some sort of connection, but unless one of them steps up and says... Hey, guys I really am Bob Iger and I do know exactly what is planned and what will get my approval, it's mostly all pure speculation. Some educated guesses and others just pure BS from the word go. Others just echo their leaders and really only rehash old information by loyally supporting the words of others. No, I think it is far better to just have it like it has always been.

We have, without intent, proven how easy it is to manipulate the "like" count. That has thankfully rendered the entire system as having absolutely no real relevance other then communication, not superiority or special honor.
Like I said, there a probably a billion reasons why it is a bad idea. It was an idea I gave less than a couple minutes of thought towards. I was just trying to think of something both sides would be fine with.

I'm guessing you are talking about me. Of which, well, I'm sorry all of you HATE me all the sudden. Oh well, C'est Le Vie. I have never asked to be given likes to reach a higher number (sound familiar anyone?) nor said "I'll do anything for likes." (Ring a bell?) It's such a waste of time and energy to bicker about it.

Maybe Steve should take away ALL the likes in ChitChat again (that would also include the Saget thraed where a majority of the likes you all have gotten) and people will stop griping. It's petty. Did anyone really think they were going to Fiji with them? But, just like others, I will carry on here on my favorite website like always. Still so sorry some of you decided we can't be friends anymore.

Again? When did it happen the first time? I really don't remember that. o_O

I've been going through old papers, and came across an article from 1962 talking about Cleveland's SOS program. Sabin Oral Sunday - thousands lined up to receive polio vaccine - one dose per month X3 doses given every Sunday May - August. $&1/2 million doses were given - at ballparks, schools, fire stations, even camps. 90% of the residents received vaccinations. It was so effective because it could be given orally (rather than by injection) and also promoted intestinal immunity, preventing spreading the virus via waste matter.

I had every type of polio virus there was - shots, by "gun" (pneumatic high pressure injection) and sugar cube. It's hard to describe the fear this virus instilled - a HS friend's mother literally dropped while hanging clothes in the backyard, and was paralyzed for the rest of her life. She was on a chest compression respirator for the rest of her life - need to go back into the iron lung from time to time. She died in 1980. I knew neighbors/classmates who used leg braces and crutches.

I do remember getting my polio vaccination via sugar cube and also my small pox vaccination.
