I'm really sad today. Not like I even knew the guy personally, but hearing the word "suicide"... god, that word has such a nasty bite.
Doesn't help that I'm just down in general this week and can't seem to shake it.
Going to look at happy photos... and will probably change my avatar for the rest of the week/end.

I just got home from work and all the nurses, RTs, MDs I talked with, well we are just so sad. Robin Williams contributed so much in entertainment, but he also gave of his time to many charities and people. The man had so much compassion and I just hope he has found peace. I pray for his family and friends, that they find comfort.

I had the same issue yesterday. Drove me nuts.Hey, anyone else notice that some people's avatars seemed to have been pulled? I was looking in N&R, General Discussion, and Chit Chat this morning, and noticed this phenomenon. I half wonder if maybe some people used images that might have some sort of copyright on them? I was just curious if others also saw this and wonder why now, all of a sudden, some images were pulled. (I recognized the names of some posters and most seemed to be well-established members, so it wasn't like someone new joined and chose an inappropriate image or whatever . . .).

That's what I'm having the most difficulty reconciling in my brain. Anyone - literally ANYONE - in the world would have helped him if they just knew he was struggling. To think that he saw no hope, no joy in life when he brought those things to millions of people he never met. I just can't wrap my head around that. He shouldn't be gone.

When the hedge fund I worked for was taken over by a bank, we were required to follow all of the procedures for new bank hires - fingerprinting, drug testing, etc. I don't use drugs but I was still nervous as all heck. I must have drank 5 bottles of water before heading over for the test. I swear I am still to this day not sure how the practically pure water pee I provided was not red flagged.
And you will be excited - after the formalities.
