The biggest issue I'm having is that I currently rent, and I will probably need to move soon. If that's the case, the places I'm finding that accept both cat and dog are more than a monthly mortgage payment- AND want anywhere from $250-500 NONREFUNDABLE pet deposit- per pet. It's becoming outrageously expensive and I just don't think I can do it on my own. I dread having to live with this guy much more... I'm so miserable. I'm crying just thinking about it.

I don't have $$$ for down payment, like you're recommended to have, but my back is against the wall. Unafforadable rent and animal fees, or living with a stranger (room mate) or staying where I'm at and dealing with the winter... where I'm at, if you don't have car, you aren't making it up that hill in the winter. Well, if/when he goes, so does the car. It's HIS, not mine... and the clock is ticking in regards of winter. I only have a few short months to figure this all out.

I'm a panicked mess.

@Soarin' Over Pgh I replied to your post above, in a post below. Don't know what happened to my initial reply. It must be me! I'm having my posting "issues" here today!!

@Soarin' Over Pgh , I tried to reply to your post, but somehow I put it in the wrong spot, so I'm posting it here now. Sorry for the length of it.

With so many variables you're dealing with at the moment, have you given thought to maybe an interim solution? In other words, let's say priority #1 is moving away from your present roommate. Hypothetically, sharing a different apt. with a different roommate, for maybe a 6-month "trial" period, might be a first step. During that interim time, you'd get to know the new roommate, and decide if you like the person and living arrangements.

Even if you decided you wanted to move on after this trial period, you'd still be ahead of the game; because at least you would have removed yourself from your present unsettling situation, that you're dealing with now. You would also have time during the interim phase to look for a nicer place, or living arrangement if you desired.

IMO, breaking down a bigger problem like this into smaller sections, can be helpful.

May I kindly offer a suggestion about pets and rentals, as I have a lot of experience in both. Do you have any local ASPCA or other types of animal places in your area? Sometimes, the people who work there might have "leads" on pet-friendly rentals and tips. One thing I found out when responding to an apt. rental inquiry, was to not mention immediately that you had a dog (cat, bird, whatever). (If a rental post clearly states no pets, don't bother with those.) Just go check out a regular, rental posting, create a rapport with the owner, and then (when things "feel" right) mention you have a dog and show a picture (a friendly one . . . Daisy's adorable face would melt anyone . . .). Ask if you can bring the dog by, at the owner's convenience, so that the owner can meet the pet. I've had very good luck this way. The townhouse we rent had never had pets before, but because I very carefully broached the subject with the owners, the dog was allowed. They loved our dog (it was actually my previous dog and she was so sweet—not a hell-raising lunatic like my present dog! :hilarious:). I got this tip from a local animal shelter.

Awe Robin Williams dies. So sad. Saying suicide.
I just woke up to that news.. incredible sad, I love that man's acting!
from Jumanji to his serious work in "What dreams may come".

I'm also very infuriated at these "people" who are pure trash with no suols....
People who are blasting Williams as "C rated actor" "thank god he is gone" "homosexuals like him go straight to hell".. unbelievable.

You're right. Some people have no soul. Thank God, most people do have a soul.

Trip update:

Checked out of BLT today. My favorite resort FYI. Had breakfast at the Wave, then caught a bus from MK to BC to check in. The room is ready, butwe have not been to it yet. We were planning on the pool, but it's been raining on and off all day, so we spent the day at Epcot. Had dinner at La Hacienda. Everyone enjoyed it. I had Braised Ribs, which were very good. Only complaint is that it took too long. Well, that, and I found out that Robin Williams died at dinner. :( That was a conversation I wasn't expecting to have this evening. Moving on from sad things...

New problem with MBs: Not charging to the room. Something is linked wrong, and we've been having to use credit cards all day instead. And the RFID card that my dad always gets is not working either. So...someone will have the pleasure of dealing with my mother.
