Quick question for anyone following the Poly threads:

When will the lobby refurb be completed? Bestie and her parents are coming in January with us, and they'd like to eat at Kona since Bestie loved Kona, but we don't want to take them there if the lobby is in its current state.

So I would like to apologize for bringing up that issue last night. I didn't know it was going to lead to an argument or get so heated. I regret ever posting that. I still don't agree, but I'm not going to and those who don't agree with me are never going to, so I won't bring it up again.

In the meantime, I'm going back to my vacation. Adieu.

It goes back to the old phrase, Rules are meant to be broken and Disney itself encourages breaking many of their own blurry rules and liquids are just one. If you pay close attention while you are in the World this Vacation you will note No Food Or Beverages on Attraction and Retail signs. You will see CMs with water bottles. While instructed to try and be discrete they are allowed to break the rules especially when it is very warm and drink from their resealable bottles. Disney sells landyards to hold resealable Coke type plastic bottles and water bottles. I've actually seen CMs tell guests they do not have to throw out Coke and Water bottles with tops that screw on. A clear violation of the written rule.

Signs are an interesting thing, often posted for legal reasons over stead fast enforcement, they are gray areas. It is a sound practice for Disney to keep a no drinks sign as example, it gives security the leverage to toss a disorderly, possible drunk guest from the arcade that likely has something other than pop in that refill mug. The signs on Pool Rules can be comical in this type of discussion. Read the sign by the pool while you are there. It clearly states Shower Before Entering. Watch for a moment, do the guests all shower before entering the pool? Likely a rule the vast majority of members on this sight if honest break trip after trip. Do the CMs enforce that shower rule? It clearly states that no Smoking is allowed in pool or deck. Yet Disney has a designated smoking area in a way off awkward to reach area of the pool deck. Conflicting rule with posted sign. Disney rules state to Inform a Security Cast Member of any food items when you enter the park, how many guests follow that rule. I've yet to see a guest declare an inventory of food items at the bag check. Lawyers have had a hand in these rules as they do in schools, park districts etc. and are often posted or policy written just to safeguard certain situations. We in my school district have a no rollerblade policy on school property to end some damage that has happened over the years. Yet we have a PE Unit every fall, rollerblading.

I am sorry you felt the need to apologize. :( Enjoy your vacation.

Ran into a problem tonight...DW is at work so I was eating by myself tonight. So i started grilling a steak on the BBQ for myself. Then I realized one problem. I had absolutely no sides to go with it. No veggies, no potatoes, nothing. Apparently our last grocery store trip did not involve anything that grew in the ground. So...i just ate a steak...like an animal.

Another steak would have been the "sides" for me. :hungry: :D ;) :)

I picked all the pictures in the middle and it told me I couldn't read. :joyfull:

Hahaaa...!
I almost did that too, just to see what it would tell me! :)

Instead, it told me I don't like Beyonce. It said I didn't hate her either, but, I don't really like her.
I don't really have an opinion on her one way or another, other than the fact that she's attractive. And, I have seen her in enough stuff to affectionately refer to her as "Bouncy"... :D  ;) :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
It was 61* when I woke up this morning. :grumpy: I swear my calendar says August!
I drove my son to work at 6:30 this morning. I wore a jacket and I turned the heated seat on.
When I got home and back into bed, I was so cold that I had to put my fluffy socks on, and pull up the extra comforter.

FOURTH TIME THIS WEEK.
August, my behind!

its understandable...
l besides we ALL know we were not the your position you were. So we cannot get a 100% grasp on how bad the CM was asking(or demanding) for the drink (or the creepyness factor of his actions).

let's just forget about this issue and move on. I just would have preferred you to take a more proactive approach if something like this happens in the future.(you get to avoid an event that might ruin your vacation and you still wouldn't need to get ed) a big win win!

In other news, I had a nightmare... where a hacker got me into all the ignore lists of everyone on this board, and I was wondering why noone noticed what I wrote..(while wondering what I did wrong) *shudders*

I'm trying to lose a few pounds before the cruise so I hear ya. (Although carry on with the food .:joyfull: )

funnily, that's exactly we're doing right now.
Eating fewer than normal because we know we will get completely STUFFED at the cruise.
We got a few family friends who went to Disney Cruises a few times.. and they told us it was a "nonstop food festival with character shows added to it"

I had an offer to see this for free and I passed. Megan Fox as April O'Neil= "Aw h**llllllll no."
I honestly think I will pass on it as well, might just see it if it was free.

But sure as hell I wont be paid for this... specially since there are supposed plans to make a sequel of this horrible version.

I have nightmares of seeing Michael Bay ruining this movie even more.. by adding John Chunchurro(a joke, real name is Turturro) as Casey Jones.

Busy beaver. I've repainted ornamental railing units, they are snow white once again over the winter white with the highlights of rust streaks. I've also repainted my DD's French Quarter horse. She became very attached to them when she was 2 years old and still brings warm memories every time we pass one at the FQ or POR.

We put a Mickey Santa stocking hat on him during the holidays.
