How can I protect myself from being a victim?

  • Don't accept drinks from other people.
  • Open containers yourself.
  • Keep your drink with you at all times, even when you go to the bathroom.
  • Don't share drinks.
  • Don't drink from punch bowls or other common, open containers. They may already have drugs in them.
  • If someone offers to get you a drink from a bar or at a party, go with the person to order your drink. Watch the drink being poured and carry it yourself.
  • Don't drink anything that tastes or smells strange. Sometimes, GHB tastes salty.
  • Have a nondrinking friend with you to make sure nothing happens.
  • If you realize you left your drink unattended, pour it out.
  • If you feel drunk and haven't drunk any alcohol — or, if you feel like the effects of drinking alcohol are stronger than usual — get help right away.

Why Is It Important To Follow Rules & Posted Guidelines?

  • If it's not your house, then you don't have the authority to say which rules can be broken and why.
  • An establishment has every right to enforce posted rules, and every guest in said establishment has the responsibility to follow them.
  • If Disney does not want people bringing beverages into arcade rooms or near expensive arcade equipment, they have every right to forbid it. If you didn't buy the equipment yourself, you have no say in what is and is not allowed to be around it.
  • We are not so entitled (though we may think we are) that we can just do what we want despite posted rules in a place we do not own.
  • If I visit your place, I follow your rules. If you visit my place, you follow mine. This is not rocket science.
  • The rules clearly stated: No Food Or Drinks Allowed. There should have been no confusion after this point.

You, too, are missing the point, but since I've already explained and reexplained my problem with the rude and slightly creepy CM, I'm not going to explain it again. Instead, I will get on with my Disney trip.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
You brought it up.

:p

Just glad to finally have a good team after all these years.
Why are you still up?
(I'm an insomniac - I have an excuse.)

YOU are at Disney, and should be resting up for a fun-filled day tomorrow.
Get to bed young lady.

(And just because I didn't 100% agree with your take on tonight's topic, doesn't mean that I don't genuinely like and respect you. For a rotten teenager, you're not so rotten.)

God Bless ... AND GO TO BED!

Thanks. For a Canadian, you are not so bad either. ;)

I only got back to the room an hour ago...I'll be in bed until 9 and may take a NAP at the pool.

What dates in Feb? We're planning on being there but staying offsite and only visiting MK for 2 days sometime between the 17-24

Right now 1/31-2/7 but if hubby's job falls behind schedule the last week (not sure of the dates).

And I say, "That'll change next year" because, as long as my clearances/drug test/etc. come back acceptable (as they should)... I got the job I interviewed for this morning.

She called me at lunch time and said "I couldn't wait till Monday to tell you". I'm trying hard to contain my excitement, but WHOOOO BOY am I losing that battle :)

Yay!!!!!! I'll save the chickens for the official offer. ;)

Been lurking and reading the discussion over the past few pages. As someone who works with the public myself, I have to say you nailed it here. If there is any confusion or question over the drink debate, please read and reread the above quote. Pay special attention to D. (whether you are male or female, it applies to us all).

Welcome to the thraed. It's usually not so contentious around here.
