It goes back to the old phrase, Rules are meant to be broken and Disney itself encourages breaking many of their own blurry rules and liquids are just one. If you pay close attention while you are in the World this Vacation you will note No Food Or Beverages on Attraction and Retail signs. You will see CMs with water bottles. While instructed to try and be discrete they are allowed to break the rules especially when it is very warm and drink from their resealable bottles. Disney sells landyards to hold resealable Coke type plastic bottles and water bottles. I've actually seen CMs tell guests they do not have to throw out Coke and Water bottles with tops that screw on. A clear violation of the written rule.

Signs are an interesting thing, often posted for legal reasons over stead fast enforcement, they are gray areas. It is a sound practice for Disney to keep a no drinks sign as example, it gives security the leverage to toss a disorderly, possible drunk guest from the arcade that likely has something other than pop in that refill mug. The signs on Pool Rules can be comical in this type of discussion. Read the sign by the pool while you are there. It clearly states Shower Before Entering. Watch for a moment, do the guests all shower before entering the pool? Likely a rule the vast majority of members on this sight if honest break trip after trip. Do the CMs enforce that shower rule? It clearly states that no Smoking is allowed in pool or deck. Yet Disney has a designated smoking area in a way off awkward to reach area of the pool deck. Conflicting rule with posted sign. Disney rules state to Inform a Security Cast Member of any food items when you enter the park, how many guests follow that rule. I've yet to see a guest declare an inventory of food items at the bag check. Lawyers have had a hand in these rules as they do in schools, park districts etc. and are often posted or policy written just to safeguard certain situations. We in my school district have a no rollerblade policy on school property to end some damage that has happened over the years. Yet we have a PE Unit every fall, rollerblading.

I am sorry you felt the need to apologize. :( Enjoy your vacation.

I apologized for causing an argument. There are enough of those on this forum, and this thraed is supposed to be a safe zone. My opinion has not changed at all. There are some creapy CMs in this world (believe me, I've met some who were off duty) and if they'd really like the rule to be enforced, putting it on a clear sign instead of white letters on a clear door which opens against a white wall would help. It just could have been handled differently. And that CM gave me the creaps. Ugh

But that's the last I'll say of it. This thraed is for fun stuff.

This will not become an ongoing boring topic, but I thought I would share that I am once again on a diet.
A very strict, low calorie diet, which requires thrice-weekly visits to their clinic.

Post-hysterectomy last year, I gained 40 POUNDS!
I started a diet late last year, and ended up losing 32 lbs.

Unfortunately, Son #1 moved back home in March (glad he's home, don't get me wrong), and all the ensuing stress knocked me off the wagon. (Y'all remember the cops and all ....)
Anyways, I fell off the wagon big time - and ended up regaining 25 lbs!

The only reason I mention this is because we all know I like to say, "I'll have two, please", whenever you fine folks post food .

Here's my request - DO NOT FEED JenniferS.

No matter how nicely I ask.

Now annoyed with self. I thought I packed everything. I'm so meticulous about these things. Know what I forgot? An inhaler. :banghead: I've been doing well over the past few months since my doctor put me on a new maintenance med, so I didn't even think about it. *sigh* Guess I will be looking into getting that pharmacy to deliver an inhaler.

You've probably already taken care of the new inhaler. If not, may I suggest Turner Drug over in Celebration. They deliver to Disney resorts for a nominal fee. Time is money when you're visiting Disney, so I highly recommend them. (That way, you don't have to go outside the "world" to a pharmacy.) I had to order from them once about 6 years ago, and they were great. I just had to sign for the package at the concierge desk. (I don't recall exactly, but I "think" maybe it was added to my room charge. I don't remember if I gave a credit card # over the phone.) Their # is: 407-566-9060. I think their hours at 8-8, if what I saw on Google is current.

8 days on the Carnival Breeze :)

When you first shared the great news that you and your daughter were going on a cruise, you had some slight hesitation about not being able to swim. So, I was pondering your recent comment, and I realized (as I started looking online) that there's quite a bit of helpful information on the web. There's even some videos. I thought that maybe if you watched a YouTube video, or read hints about beginner swimming for adults, that might be a good first step, toward helping to minimize some of your apprehension.

Then, maybe down the road, you might even have some interest in a local, adult group swim class (just for the basics). You see, I'm partial to pool or ocean swimming, in that I've loved the water ever since I was a little kid. When I was 5, I got my first swimming credential (I was awarded a "Guppy" skill recognition card!! :joyfull: ). Lastly, you don't have to swim in deep water until you're ready, and it's toward the end of your swim lessons. The funny thing is that swimming in deep water is exactly the same as swimming in more shallow water. It's not scary at all! :)

Lastly, it's not required that you know how to swim to go on a cruise. The above was just some rambling thoughts I had this afternoon. You'll have a great time on your cruise!

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Being afraid to cruise because you can't swim is like being afraid of airplanes because you can't fly.

Although ... you're far less likely to hit an iceberg in a plane. ;)
