Today, per the usual, I went to Bestie's grandparents' house. They normally invite a group there from our religious group to go swimming on Mondays during the summer. I drive separately from my mom now so I can get there and leave when I need to. Well, today, I got there, and one of my mom's friends was leaving. This was the conversation.

Friend: Are you here by yourself?
Me: No, my mom's here.
Friend: But you drove a CAR here by yourself?
(Note: I got my license two and a half years ago)
What I wanted to say: Nah, golf cart
What I actually said: Um, well, I am 19 and have had a license for over two years.
Friend: But you used to be so little? How can you drive a car?
Me: o_O

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
That's pretty much how it went with our 3 kiddos.
Although, one time when our first was sick at around 18 mos. or so (Ithink?), we let her sleep in our bed for 2 nights. When I saw it was lookin' like it was goin' that way again on night 3, I nipped it in the bud right then and there. I ended up sleepin' on her floor that night 'cause she was still not feelin' too good, and to get her used to sleepin' in her own bed again.
After that, except with a few rare occasions similar to the ones you mentioned, it went like you described for y'all.
When our kids were little, they rarely, if ever, slept in our bed.
I never even had their crib/bassinet in our room as newborns. All upon the advice of my mom.

What I miss though, is Saturday mornings when they would both hop in bed with Hubby and I for snuggles, tickles, and a half hour of nonsense, before Mommy had to leave for work.

Now, they can scarcely stand to be in the same room as us.

That's what I meant about "you're going to miss this".

Enjoy it.
One day you'll be old and senile, and your daughter's friends will be saying, "How can you drive a car? Haven't they taken away your keys yet?"

I got Dorothy. :hilarious:
You got Dorothy!
You are a born leader, extremely loyal, and have a knack for quick comebacks. Your well of knowledge is deep and broad (like your shoulder pads). Despite your tough exterior, you're willing to exhibit patience and understanding. One exception to the rule: any story that starts with "Back in St. Olaf...".

Okay, that's it. I'm going back to fiddle some answers.
By hook, or by crook, I WILL BE Dorothy.

Where's that "look around" smiley, when you need it?

It's the ONE smiley that I really miss.

Nope. Still Rose.

You got Rose!
You are kind, generous, and always optimistic. Even though you might be one cheese ball short of a full tray, that won't stop you from making friends everywhere you turn. Be careful to overwhelm your friends with stories of yesteryear, it may result in unwanted newspaper smacks.

Everyone loves Rose...you can't help but love Rose.
