Then act like a lady, and not a diva.

In typical Canadian fashion, the manager apologized, chastised the employee, and let Aretha have her way.
If it's true that there were a lot of empty tables, the employee was being petty in telling her she couldn't sit there, celebrity or not.

But I agree fully that celebrities shouldn't receive special treatment, unless they're paying good money to be treated differently.

Did yard work almost all day yesterday. And deck work, including finally dismantling our 13 year old massive grill that has not weathered the past decade plus so well. My daughter really enjoyed seeing the crumbling metal.

Fun, science! ;) :)

Yea, and, as per all too usual, I didn't start 'til around 3p when it was about 96 with about a 101 heat index.
By the time I wrapped up, it was about 98 with about a 103 heat index, and I was nothin' but a soaked, grimey, steamin' hot mess... :cyclops:
Nothin' a shower and some cold brews couldn't fix, though...! :hungry: ;) :)

YAAAY! Finally problems fixed.

after 1 full week, working 16+ hours a day.. including full night runs (as I had to talk with some Indian support guys).. the problem as been found.. and it was a catastrophic chain of events.

But what baffled me, made me facepalm.. then laugh.. then got me ed. Was the error that collapsed the entire software..
It was caused by..

wait for it...

3 BLANK LINES OF TEXT BEFORE THE PHP CODE IN A CONFIGURATION FILE.

that's right.. all the errors.. were caused by 3 lines of empty text in a php config file.
this not only speaks wonders of the support given by the "programmers" of said software.. but they also had to contact one of the creators of the software (aka leader programmer) who found the error IN MERE SECONDS.

We had destroyed, remade, rebuild, restored backups, made backups, moved 10+Gb of data again and again... just for 3 mere blank lines of text.. unbelievable.

So here I am trying to contain my Inner Kirk against the main support guy named "Khan"..

When our power went out I immediately heard the back up generator for the phone/internet/cable going beep beep beep. Generally it goes as long as my battery on my laptop.
Ugh.. I really wish these alarms were musical or something.. they are nightmarish.. They give me the creep when my 2 UPS start to beep.
Kinda apocalyptic sounds, gives me the jeebies in a similar way as those nuclear attack warning sirens.

Come hang out with me. We will be a joy together.

I had to stay up until 3:00 to switch over the load of Son #2's work clothes, so they would be dry in time.
It's not like I didn't ask him four times yesterday to gather his stuff for me to wash!

Plus, it's raining. Buckets. On a Monday!
Isnt it dangerous to go out if its raining BUCKETS? ;)

The first time we went to Hawaii it took me 2 weeks to get back on normal time. The second time it took a few days.

Those thunderstorms were pretty loud last night. I think for you guys it was worse than it was over here though
Speaking of Hawaii, I need to add a "visit hawaii at least once in my lifetime" to my bucket list.

My DH wants a new BBQ. I love ours, it is roughly 25 years old. I BBQ, he does not.

My DD watched Barney and DS Turtles like many watch Frozen over and over. I've had about 17 years of freedom from that compulsive behavior of watching the same thing over and over again. Blessed. ;)

Poor Tree (I'm a self proclaimed Tree Hugger) She'll want more water. Often it fries some of the areas that use to bring water up when they are scorched. Watch her carefully, she might need some nursing. Poor kid too, hate storms like that. We just had power outages yesterday with full sunshine.

DS Turtles? what is that? (tmnt turtles?)

My kids were never allowed in our bed. One exception, a storm like @brifraz described. A boom so loud that 2 kids came running at once along with 2 golden retrievers, 6 of us in our bed.

When they were scared or ill I'd take them back to their room if they woke me up and stay with them until they fell back asleep and then I returned to my own room. The only exception was when my DH took my DS out of town and then DD and I had girls weekends. They knew they could come get me if necessary but they never wanted to get in because it was never offered. Waking the Mom ma for stupid stuff...well they knew better.
so, for a room party.. you need a big storm.. a big lightning hit and a loud boom?

I honestly feel that many artists.. who are invited for free to many restaurants.. thinks their mere presence can help the restaurants.. hence why they feel entitled.
