When you get lost between the moon and New York City...

All of my multi-quotes from this morning are gone. Suffice it to say, I had many witty things to say regarding my water bottle and the coffee maker.

We went to a rescheduled 4th party today. Check out the treats my daughter (a) found online and (b) made herself for the festivities:

We used the leftover chocolate to cover some pretzels (the stupid bag was mostly broken) and arranged them as a flag:

Well, Mom survived one party today , but tomorrow might be another story. We have to go to a 90th birthday party for DH's aunt tomorrow. It's at a restaurant, and there will be many people there who Mom barely knows. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes not so much... Wish us luck. i'm off to bed myself - I'm going to need my sleep tomorrow.

I envy my cousin's job. She works at a small local store in Galena, IL (I think that's where it is). She gets paid like $8.50 and gets 8 hour shifts so she doesn't have to work every day. She also gets "bonuses" in gift cards to the store she works at. One of her coworkers has around $500 in gift cards to the store. And she's in high school. There was plenty of jealousy to be had when she told me this.

That is how my DD's lifeguards work too. Minimum wage in IL is $8.25 so they are giving her a little bit more.
The gift cards are the mark of a good employer, intensive. Her summer guards can work upto 40 hours a week and can either works lots of small shifts or work even doubles at the outdoor waterpark. They want them to work 30 hours a week so some of them are working 3 long days with 4 off.

There are a few entry level positions at Disney World that does that too but the CMs get some choices of where they want their gift cards from aside from Disney, I know Target is one of them.

That part isn't the problem. The problem is there is no rhyme or reason to where the toys are placed in those sections. Within 3 or 4 spaces of each other there could be 2 different Sequence 25s. And half the times you can't find them at all because they either aren't out there or things are placed in the wrong spots.

My very first job at 15 was at Fannie May Candy. We would receive on shipment day trays and trays of fine chocolate. For 8 hours that day I would take a piece of chocolate and place it in the little white paper liner all while standing in one place for the entire day. The next day I'd take those candies and place them in their appropriate boxes. And on day 3 I would wrap all those boxes of Chocolate, one after the other. And then the next shipment would arrive and I'd start all over again. But it was money, the goal and a resume builder the perk.

Likely you will learn to cope you've only been there a short while. More importantly looking to the future. You are being educated, not something everyone is granted, to be able to move on. Possibly now you will look at college courses with even more vigor and focus, possibly graduate with high honors so you can land a career more to your likling. Perspective is usually helpful to get you through the rough times.
