Those plans are way too complicated. We pick the person with the biggest yard and or best pool and head there.

This s what I made for the party:

Served with animal crackers and minion shaped graham crackers. Came home with an empty bowl. Would have stayed for a few more hours but our idiot neighbors have a habit of setting off fireworks and my dog doesn't appreciate it (and I don't appreciate the mess that happens because she's alone and scared)... Stupid people. :(
I love the labels - that is such a good idea!!!!! No one around here ever does that and you're left to guessing or tasting everything to try and figure out what it is!!!!! Too bad I can only use the Like once, because you deserve a bunch for that!!!!!!!

Yes, it's smaller. It's a WWII era B-25J medium bomber with 2 engines. The other was a WWII era B-17G heavy bomber with 4 engines.
The B-25 is probably most famous as the plane used in the Doolittle raid on Tokyo, Japan on April 18th, 1942, but, was used in all theaters of the war.
The B-17 was mainly used as a daylight bomber in the European theater of the war.
I've been keeping up with this stuff since I was about 8 years old. It just fascinates me.
I'm a fan of battleships, dreadnoughts and heavy gun fights myself.
since the oldest wood battleships exchanging broadsides... :D

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
That disclosure is what makes me almost giddy that throughout my 66 years I have never spent one minute of it thinking about stuff like that and surprise, surprise I have been in the hospital only three times. Once when I was born, once when I had my tonsils removed (that was a status thing of the 50's) and when I had my leg injury. I have made only one visit as a patient to the ER. I have a random cold every two years or so. My point is that I have never had any bacterial related illnesses that I wouldn't have gotten anyway.

That's only because you cannot trust people that are that polite. They most assuredly are planning something and are trying not to sound too aggressive.

I am never grumpy! It's just that everyone else is overly good natured.
Please don't ever leave us. You are one of my favourite people here.

Aw, thanks! Because it was a multi family party, I wasn't sure of any food allergies,so I decided to label them. A quick scribble, some tape to hold, a cut up clear straw and done :) the coconut was the break out hit of the night...it was the first to go. The blackberry was last.

Along the lines of old military aircraft, this reminds me a bit of an old wreckage of a B18 bomber up in the New Hampshire mountains. (On Jan. 14,1942, a crew had lost their way at night, while on anti-submarine patrol off the East Coast. They turned around to avoid a storm, and miscalculated the drift along the route back to their base in Chicopee, MA, and ended up crashing into the side of Mt. Waternomee.) Five survived the crash, out of a crew of seven.

Back around the autumn of 1990, we hiked to the site. It was a challenging hike up there; and when we reached the site, there was metal stuck in trees, part of engines on the ground, landing gear and fuselage strewn all over the area. We were very respectful of the site, noting what had happened there, and giving thanks to the rescuers from the Army, as well as local people in the area, who all pitched in to help out and hike up there, through very deep snow, on a cold January evening, in 1942.

Thanks for sharing that. Sounds like a hike I'd enjoy.
I was familiar with that crash, but, I googled to refresh my memory with more details. Interesting story.
The one I am more familiar with, and the incident that first crossed my mind when I came into the office on the morning of 9/11/01 and was told by a coworker that a plane had crashed into one of the Trade Center towers, was this one:

Cool! :)
I've studied/study all aspects in regards to WWII, but, I have a special interest in the air war.
I built all kinds of models when I was way younger; planes, ships, tanks, etc.
Did you know that the last salvo in history ever to be fired by a battleship against other warships was the USS Mississippi at the Battle of Surigao Strait during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in the Philippines in Oct. of 1944?
That kinda' warfare has long since been made obsolete with the domination of the aircraft carrier.
Very interesting stuff. :) To me, anyway. ;) :)

OK - maybe @Lucky can answer this: we're watching the DC fireworks on PBS, and I keep seeing palm trees. Why???
Maybe they were purposely showing the wrong footage. I remember back when Wisconsin was going through the Recall efforts of Scott Walker, Fox News showed footage from Florida of people turning cars over and lighting them on fire and said it was the protests at the capitol building. There were palm trees in the background and police officers riding horses... neither of which we have here. The protests here were not violent whatsoever.

Well I fixed the problem of having a shift end at 10:30 then having a 4am shift the next day. Luckily someone wanted to switch shifts with me, so now I work 8am-2pm instead of 4:30pm-10:30pm. I'm still going to talk to our HR person when she gets back from her time off on Monday, as I want to ask her another question anyway.
