Ok, we're still tryin' to decide between Tex-Mex, BBQ, and Catfish Parlor for chow...

Like a flash...since we haven't been there in a while, Catfish (Bottom Feeder Parlor for @Gabe1) Parlor for the WIN!!!!! out for now...
See y'all when I'm stuffed...!
We have reservations for the new "modern American food" place on Main Street. The reservation is for right now and I am still in the liquor store parking lot waiting for my gf to pick a wine to bring with us.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Thankfully, one of the three people I have been FB-creeping is up to no good. Great fun following his high-jinks. He's down in your country now, so if you catch a whiff of something really unpleasant, it's him.

Sadly the other two have no new postings in almost a month. One of them is a former friend of mine, Michelle; the other is her creepy ex-boyfriend. She has potentially life ending cancer and the fact that she has not posted in forever is somewhat distressing. If I see that she starts posting again, I will send her a friend request, but I don't want to seem like a ghoul, hovering in the periphery of her illness.

When my dad was ill, I gained at least two dozen new "friends" who were actually my parents' friends. They cared enough to follow his cancer progress through my postings, but not enough to actually pick up the phone and call. A couple of months after he died, I deleted them all. Unfortunately Michelle accidentally got swept up in what I called "the big dump". Seems hypocritical to send her a friend request at this particular time.

Anyway, I was just checking in here for a moment. I think I'll save the big catching up/likeapalooza for the weekend. See you all tomorrow!
Notice I didn't specify which weekend. :D
I don't think he is coming back. Captain Ahab got him.:(
Oh, I am, trust me. But don't consider me back yet-- I still need a break. It'll be another month or two.

I applaud anyone who fights, pushes through, and perseveres against crappy odds. Kudos to her for that.
That being said, I will still BM whenever I feel it is appropriate based on her business decisions, and jokes related to such.
Sounds to me like you've described a big girl that can take it.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I hafta' BM...

;)

Yep, I bet she can take it. Likely gets a chuckle out of the likes of us.

So continuing the accents discussion, why do some singers have such strong accents (Irish, Australian, Southern) but when they sing there is no hint of it?
That's a good question. Some singers' singing and speaking voices are amazingly different. John Fogerty for one.

You see the same thing with TV anchors, they could grow up in the South and when on air you'd never know it.
Same with actors and actresses, the add an accent or loose their natural one for a role. I've always been impressed that they can turn it on and off like that.

My Gran came from Ireland. At the time she said when she immigrated she worked at loosing her natural accent that marked them when they were looking for employment, yet at family gatherings listening to our elders you'd swear we were in a backyard in Ireland.

Agree, but sometimes certain groups can attack you like you murdered their family or something.
poor @pheneix had to endure the same attack for weeks. The other dude just couldn't LET IT GO.
Yeah I saw some of that thread. I had to walk away from that one, sometime threads just need to disappear into the night, that is one that could have gone *Poof* and it would have been for the best. There are enough that can't LET IT GO, you can't rationalize with folk like that, it is who they are heart and soul, they thrive on stuff like this. Thankfully the vast majority of members have sound minds.

There is a new "modern american food" place in main street? o_o
Is that sarcasm related to the casey's remodeling?
or I'm confused? (which I obviously might)

You can always send her an offline message just to see how is she doing that you worried about since you havent heard anything from her?

Dunno about you, but nowadays I prefer to text via wasap, facebook then normal cell phone messages before I even attempt to call.

I still would have loved to see a mod to calm the dude down.
I've seen mods delete posts for less.

And some Advil and a hot shower.

and repeat today

got the last tree in today, done with that. got half the Kale farm in the ground, rest will go in planters soon.
Herb planters are done, replaced all the perennials that bit the dust from our incredibly harsh winter, that was costly. Got some annuals in the ground, all but one planter is complete 'cause I can't find that plant nor can I find any larger Lantana plant that isn't yellow. Wonder what is up with that, I have a basketball sitting in that hole up front so nobody falls in. Not pretty. Once I find that one I'm done planting up front.

Up tomorrow is hopefully my veggie garden at the back corner of the property which presently has all the Kale flower pots sitting in it about 30 of them. So I have to deal with them before I can get the veggies in the ground.

As pretty as my property is getting my back patio looks like the hillbillies reside here cause I have tools, dirt, mulch, container, shovels, wheel-barrel you name it everywhere. My DH has the patio furniture strewn about and the gazebo in a half readied state, so it is looking Pretty Hillbilly right now. Can't wait to be done. So does my body.
