SIL and her daughter are coming over tonight for what we call "Tea, Trudy" (a line from Titanic, of course) and we will be making Disney plans. Hopefully setting a date.
Seriously thinking of booking POR w/Free Dining, rather than POP w/Free QS Dining, and having to upgrade.

Still hoping Hubby will end up joining us, and there's no way these old bones can tolerate a double bed with his gigantic-ness hogging 3/4 of the bed. And yes, all 4 of us will share one room; we are never in it anyway.

Sadly, it looks like I will be watching Survivor in delay, so no spoilers in this thraed please.

Y'all will love POR! It's our favorite, so far. :)

those areas looks really good! we might try getting a room in the Bayou area or Royal area on my next trip! :p

Agree, I was scratching my head at the comment about the TVs.
At most, these tvs are just to kill a little time between park trips and maybe watch the weather.
Nailed it.
As someone who was in the World during Katrina, Lee, Maria, Nate AND Ophelia (all in one trip), I WATCH THE WEATHER. Every morning. Every night.

I am absolutely gob-smacked.

As you may know, I have a thing for voices, and absolutely love the Pure Michigan series of ads. The music, the images, but mostly the voice-over make them my favourite radio and tv commercials.

And do you know who does the voice work?

Now that I know, I can't believe I hadn't figured it out earlier.

It's none other than Tim Allen. Buzz-flipping-Lightyear. Still shaking my head.

I could tell that the first time I saw one of the commercials.

He was also the voiceover in Chevy ads for a while too. I think he grew up in Michigan and must really love the state (Its where Home Improvement was set also).

It's always interesting noticing the famous voices in different ads. I know The Dude sells Hyundais, Jon Hamm sells Mercedes, Picard wants you to rent from National, and Jack Bauer voices a banking commercial when he isn't busy showing up in person for tequila commercials.

@NYwdwfan How is the hubby doing?

Ok - thanks for asking! His back (he says) is better but I can see he is still in pain. But he is moving around and it does seem to be getting better each day so I guess we just have to be patient as it is a slows process. He's definitely recovered from the reaction that had him hospitalized. We have dinner at his mom's on Thursday so I'm going to pick up a cheesecake on the way.

Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom are my dream resorts. I just can't swing the price right now. I think that what draws me to the Bayou side. It has that rustic style and the price is much more doable for me. It isn't as elegant as WL, but there the peacefulness of the place makes up for it. It seems much more isolated than it really is.

2 years when we were pricing vacations it was only $100 difference overall between POR and WL. The deluxes were (I believe) 30% off and the mods 25% off with our PIN so we went with WL.

Tower of Terror — twice as scary!

TOT has always been one of my favorite rides. Got to the Studios early one morning and just walked on it with no wait. Ride was hilarious as usual. At the end, when it stopped, it got dark except for one light ahead. Then the beginning audio tape started playing over again?! But, we weren't moving. Ride was dead (no pun intended).

After sitting there in relative darkness for about 3 minutes or so, finally, we heard a voice on a speaker say they were turning up the lights. A technician walked by the side of the car (there was a little open grate on the side of the car, so we could see him), and he told us they were going to tow the ride backwards and then we could walk off it. It was bizarre being towed (like a car that broke down . . .). They then had about 5 cast members arrive, and they wheeled over a stairwell to the elevator "car" so we could exit the ride.

It was fun seeing the basement of the attraction (I love behind the scenes stuff), and we were led up the back stairs, and then over to an elevator. We could either leave, or they'd let us ride again--99 percent of the people wanted to ride again! It was great—a double TOT ride in one morning!!! :joyfull:
