When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Liquor stores stay open 'til only 9p. Closed on Sunday. I can't even remember the last time I went into a liquor store, though. As far as beer and wine go, you can purchase it at grocery/convenience stores 'til midnight 6 days a week, 1a on Saturdays. Can't purchase it again 'til 7a. :)
Can't purchase it anywhere here but gov't owned liquor stores or beer stores.
Welcome to the Nanny State Ontario where people are too stupid to be allowed to buy alcohol from grocery stores or convenience stores or gas stations.

What are said stores' hours of operation?
Just in case we ever decide to move to Canada. :D ;) :)

In my county in MD you can't buy it at grocery or convenience stores or gas stations.

When I lived in TN I worked at a gas station/convenience store that could sell beer (not wine or liquor). The same people would come in 2 or 3 times on a Friday or Saturday night to buy more beer - and more gas.

Only liquor stores can sell here so I'm used to saying, "I'm going to the liquor store." when I do a beer run.

Here they close at 10. After that, you gotta hope your local bar does packaged goods.

I remember somethin' about "State stores" from my trip to NYC and the Jersey shore back in '81.
Sorry, that trip is a bit of a blur  :D ;) :), but, I think that's what you're referring to...?

Our stores aren't state run. We have a lot of lot of chain stores, hole in the walls, and everything in between for liquor stores. Just has to be to separate from the grocery and convenience stores. They are usually next door with an entrance inside the grocery store, but you can't check out beer from the grocery checkout and vice versa.

My state doesn't trust us with pumping our own gas. So letting us buy beer there would be even worse madness.

I can, however, legally feel like a mogul hittin' jackpots on my mobile (Online gambling is legal and that is the annoying Caesars ad they have for it).

Hmmm...
As blury as that trip was, I know we picked up a big bottle of grain alcohol at, I coulda' swore, a "State store" somewhere.
NY then, maybe...?

Are you being serious about the self-serve gas thing...?
