I am very fortunate to be able to stay at the poly for five days. We could have gone almost a year prior to when we did but staying at Art of animation and chose to hold out a little longer.

The real shocker for me will be seeing Disneyland ...and DCA, where a parking lot used to be. That's gonna be odd but cool, I think.

Is it weird I remember our last parking spot there? Tinker bell 38 :joyfull:

We were last there in June of 2010. Hadn't been since the year Star Tours first opened in the summer of '87. Seein' DCA where the old parkin' lot used to be was kinda' nutty.
Don't remember the space # we parked in in the Mickey and Friends parking struture, but, I do remember it was in the Donald section. :)

Exactly. There is no need to wedge a couch up against a Entertainment/Dresser combo without end table or coffee table and then slam a desk up against the entertainment center. The Poly and the Contemporary rooms have the gift of square footage. Disney could easily furnish these rooms properly and follow something that reflects proper interior design that is functional.

I stayed in the lodge portion of AKL, with a pool view. It was nice but had less usable space than POR. They lost usable in the little entrance hallway with the closet. The bathroom area was tighter than POR especially for those with families vying for sink time and changing clothes space. The choice of bed frame is a nightmare as it begs guest to trip on the legs at the foot of the bed. Many guests have taken some nasty falls tripp'n on those. I always seem to float back to POR or FQ but still find POR to be the best offering for the $$.
The one thing I really want them to do with both PO resorts is replace that shower curtain used to hide the sink/closet area with a sliding door like the CSR rooms have. I just find the curtain ugly.

I went with a comedic duo - I mean how do you separate Norm & Cliff?

Good choice!
I almost went with Cheers, actually. About the only sitcom I really watch anymore, though, is Golden Girls late at night. Cheers comes on after that, and, I catch it sometimes too, but, I went back to Golden Girls 'cause it's usually what I fall asleep to. Anyway, Bea Arthur had me thinkin' about Maude which then lead me to Archie. Then I just thought "Heck, I'm doin' a Norman Lear weekend!" Sooooo many classics...! :)

Every time I've stayed at POR (5 or so times), there has been no shared bus system between POR and POFQ. Maybe it's just during the off-season they share it.
You must be darn lucky. When we've stayed at POR or just going to see Yehaw Bob, we have ALWAYS got a bus that did both. :(

I love cheers! I've been watching it on netflix..that show is a classic. Golden girls has always been a fave of mine but it's not on netflix or any channel I actually get with cable. Lame.

I was going to pick Redd Foxx but changed my mind at the last second. :D

What time of year?
We've stayed there in April and May but we always go see Bob which pretty much covers the other months of the year. I had to stop and think I've actually been during each month over the years. When we stayed the only time we got a dedicated bus is first thing in the mornings for MK.

Yeah, no more arcade.

Jennifer that's a fine idea. I can always swing by for breakfast or dinner and enjoy parts of the beach- the parts that aren't now blocked due to the bungalows... but I doubt I'll ever shell out the money to stay there again.

Just curious, but what are your "home" resorts when yall go to WDW? I'm considering Port Orleans for my next trip.

Although we haven't stayed there as a family since '04 (we stayed there on our kiddos first two trips in '01 and '04, and oldest DD and new DH stayed there for part of their honeymoon back in early April of this year), we still consider POR our home resort. LOVE that place! Absolutely Hope to get back there someday soon! :)

The only time when we've used a POR/POFQ combined bus was when nobody was in line for the FQ line, and there were a bunch of POR people, so he let us get on and took us to Riverside. Apparently the Riverside bus broke down.

I stayed at POFQ in August twice. Both trips we had our own buses to MK but shared with POR for all the other parks.
