I was referring more to the laws...than anything else. Though, I have a very low opinion of Baltimore...it's just one large slum in my eyes. Stoplight cameras are not unique to Maryland...and yes, they do absolutely nothing (in fact, a study run in my state a few years ago showed that they actually increase accidents, as people slam on their brakes to avoid the ticket).

The ex and I agree, we will be sending the kid to private school when she hits her teens...we've been shopping for years, and our primary debate right now is if she should go to a residence school or a non-residence school...

No way I want her anywhere near the public education system.
Depends on the area...but there's the reason I live in the county not in the city. I live in a very nice upscale area where you happen to encounter a lot of snobs. I really go down the city for baseball games, an occasional football game, the Hippodrome for a musical...other than that I stay in the county. Towson is nicer than Baltimore City, but everyone who lives there thinks that they are living in the center of the universe. That, and they are such racists over there!

Make sure you look around. And do not send her up to Baltimore Country for private school. The kids who go there are total jerks. Ironically, the public high schools up here have higher graduation rates, higher college attendance rates, rank better overall. My next door neighbor sent her daughter to private school...had massive bullying problems that the school failed to address. That, and her mom ended up teaching her algebra. Yeah. They found a better one.

Can you tell I have a very low opinion of the private schools here?;) Though my college is private. My college is cleaner, has more student services, has better parking, is newer, has smaller classes...that, and it came with a decent price tag with my scholarship

I am sorry you had to experience that boredom...

Yeah. Chris Davis's #38 was so boring:rolleyes:. They won 7-3 and I got a free hat in case you were wondering. :D That, and the Toronto fans were funny. They started to chant, my dad and I booed, and they shut up right away. Doesn't take much apparently.

It was fun, just HOT! That, and usually they give out free ice and forgot to order it this time.

Maybe Disney should make a Star Wars waterpark.

Notice how the first two kids are the same, yet different sizes? It's the Disney magic kicking in.

I am pushing for a NOVA school...residence. The ex (kiddos mom) wants something closer, and I don't blame her.

This school is high on the list...but for our budget, residence is the only option...hence the debate...

We may not go that route, we have a few years left to make a final decision. It's a huge expense, but one I think we are both willing (well, me, as I'll be paying for it) to incur. I flew up there to see her current school (Rockdale County) and meet her teachers...and they were ok (no different than any other school, from what I could tell, but it was clean, well funded, and the teachers were caring for the most part...)

As far as bullying, well, I'm not really concerned about that. It happens, period. You either learn to ignore it, laugh along with it, or fight against the bully.

It's a rite of passage, in my eyes. If the kid gets bullied, I don't mind (very different from I don't care)...

Bullying is a major issue! Please tell her if someone says something not nice to her, tell someone. She may be able to handle it...but it can seriously mess up another kid. I was bullied. I told. The bully was stopped. But too frequently...it just hurts as a middle schooler. Trust me, there are major emotional issues among teen girls that make it harder for us to handle bullying. Yes it happens. No it doesn't need to happen.

I can't really speak about Rockdale County. Don't know much about their schools.

Tennessee. The Peyton Manning college!

There's nothing like being watching a game at your favorite team's stadium. The sights and sounds are just amazing.

No doubt. I'm going back with my Dad and Cousin this fall...not sure which game...but Neyland is amazing.

Plus, I'll get to have some Petros!
