Just when you think you have a perfect schedule, you realize you have 7 hours of class in a row on Thursday with no break for lunch.

By the time I actually get to my scheduling time (3:00 tomorrow, but I'm gone on a field trip so I won't be able to do anything until about 5:00 tomorrow) all of these classes will be closed, so there's really no point.
How do they determine who schedules first at you school? I know for mine it's by Honors program then class. So it went current honors seniors, regular seniors, current honors junior, current regular junior, current honors sophomore...and so on with new entrants coming last.

It's based on your credit load here.

At my school the "student-athletes" registered first. Then it was by credit hours earned.

That schedule holds 16 credits, which is about average. The problem is I'm trying to get a Biology class in that takes 3 classes a week of 1 hour along with a 3 hour lab. The 3 hour lab is throwing things off.
ohh, I understand you.

I had a similar problem on scheduling once due of my hearing problem.. but still managed to finish.
lots of luck in arranging your classes correctly.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Does paid on commission count as self employed in Canada?
It depends how you're paid.
More and more, employers are requiring that you work as an independent contractor. Rather than being on pay-roll, we have to invoice for services. No deductions are made; we collect the HST and submit it to the gov't; and the employer does not have to pay for Worker's Comp or the Employer Health Tax.

This makes me fear for the future of our country and world. These stupid idiots are our future. These are the ones who will be making the 'rules' and upholding the law when we are old and elderly.

I can't wait to see President #YOLO.

Anyone see Idiocracy? It's kinda turning into that.

My assumption for these idiots is that they range from 15-40 in age and decided to have fun by sending these messages while egging each other on from some website forums. I completely agree with you on the fear for our future.

Mr. A is an incredible teacher. How many Biology teachers have actually been genetic counselors (although his daughter was born in the middle of the genetics unit, so he took off...but anyway). He took so much time with his students to make sure they understood the material. He taught AP biology to Freshmen and had a 2 week cram session at his house in the summer. If that's not dedicated I don't know what is. We had seven people, male and female, named Alex in the class that year, so sometimes he would call out "Alex!" and hoped one of them would answer. He nicknamed them too. My one friend who was a female Alex he nicknamed Fred. Funny, great teacher. He also did not care when I went to WDW middle of the school year (and is one of the few people who knew that I went there on a yearly basis).

I also had Mrs. A, though she wasn't nearly as good a teacher, though she's a very nice woman. 2/3 of the science teachers I had at DHS were excellent. Chem teacher was nominated for BCPS teacher of the year, and rightfully so.

I know it is a week later and I have been sadly absent from these confines, but I shared some of your positive comments with Mr. A and it really made his day.

So...I know I have been somewhat absent these past couple weeks, so, in the interest of total transparency with my Sageteer friends (Sageteamates? Sagetemporaries?)...I'm leaving my job of the last 18 years. I will likely still be teaching music somewhere next year, but not at the school that I have been at for longer than I have been at anything else in this life.

No worries. It was somewhat my decision - in that, I have decided to leave, but it is because of the actions of others. I will find something or somewhere to peddle my wares. Maybe I'll find that information about working for Disney Magic Music Days as a local agent....

It takes courage to walk away from an unpleasant situation. I have no doubt you will find something that pleases your soul. :)
