Here's an example my art talent:

A week or so ago, we did a pottery project (not on the wheel) in my art class. I was trying to make a bowl, and it looked deeper when the clay was wet. When it dried, it ended up looking like an ash tray.

Call a patent attorney...!!! You just invented the (and, be careful how you say this ;)) "Ashbowl"!!!!! :joyfull:

The back of my stat notebook needed some life. I'm not very good. Learned in fourth grade and have not improved sinceView attachment 46668

Sorry, but I had to come back to this. I think your rendition of Mickey is actually very cool...everything "Mickey" is there...the smile lines, the tongue, the cheeks, etc.! :)
Every animator that there ever was at Disney, even though there were some basic rules to follow, always added there own flair to him. He was always evolving. You drew what your minds eye saw, and there's no doubt it's Mickey! :)
But, for your own satisfaction, if you want to draw him a little closer to how you think he should look, all ya' gotta' do is just google somethin' like "How to draw Mickey Mouse", and you'll learn it in an afternoon. :)

Grandma and pulling money for college, oy. A story there I bet. Some kids with Autism just flat out amaze me and what is hidden under the surface. How old is he? A friend of mine, one of his twins is Autistic, he is beyond brilliant, he should be at Harvard or Yale, he got in as did his twin, he just couldn't do the group dorm living thing, so he is commuting to a University around here.
My grandparents weren't happy with the choices my mother was making at the time. They were control freaks and if you didn't do something the way they wanted, then it was "bye-bye." She decided to convert and they weren't happy. She decided to date my father and they weren't happy. My grandfathers were friends in college and my maternal grandfather STILL did not like my father. She got married at 19 and moved out, smart woman. And yes, they are still married 28 years later. The sad part about all of it is that my great grandfather set up trust funds for all of his grandkids to go to college, and none of them did. She tried to dictate what my mom's older sister did. She only went for a semester because she hated the school. After a semester, my grandmother told my mother that she "didn't have the money". My uncle got a girl pregnant and married her. Ironically, my mother is the only one married still out of her siblings. Anyway, my grandmother died three years ago and we found out that she gambled away all of the money. She was addicted to the lottery, and my grandfather had no clue. My grandparents did not speak to my mother for 25 years, basically until my grandmother died, and not from my mother not trying either. She tried calling them, she tried talking to them, but then after I was born and they didn't care (didn't come to the hospital, didn't call my great grandparents to tell me I was born, etc.), she decided she was done trying. She and her dad talk now, which is nice. Her mother was the problem unfortunately. My grandfather is interested in my brother since he is the only grandson. I'm just another granddaughter.

So sad grandmother story aside, my brother is 12. Loves Disney, loves anything theme-park related, loves elevators. Builds beautiful buildings (and elevators) with his blocks. His main difficulties are language-related. He reads on a 2nd grade reading level, does straight math fine but has trouble with word problems. Sometimes it's like living with Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. Things have to be a certain way (for instance, in MK, we have to ride the People Mover first), he fixates on things (recently the old Living Seas. He found a Youtube video and we have never heard the end of it), and socially he has trouble, although he has friends, both normal and ones with difficulties. And he also has to sit on the same spot on the couch every day. Oddly enough, he loves Big Bang Theory and told us tonight Sheldon is his favorite character. :joyfull:We think he's got an eidetic memory and perfect pitch, and probably engineering skills. It's just a matter of figuring out how to get it out of him.

This man is amazing. He has severe autism, is blind, and is a musical genius.

I learned from a book actually. I had guidelines but I erased them. I have an entire "How to draw" book that I got in 3rd grade. I just don't have a lot of natural ability. I can draw Minnie too.

Ya, just don't know who your neighbors really are now do ya?

We have a man on our road that kinda has had many personalities over the years. When my kids were young I had them avoid the house, didn't know much about him but he was too peculiar for my comfort with my kids. He came around quite a bit over 20 years or so and seemed to mellow but very eccentric. Now it seems to be dementia or similar settling in. He is almost blind, found out he took shrapnel to the face in Vietnam thus the vision problems that have gotten worse. He always was a bit paranoid and compulsive too.

Today the Sheriff that lives next to him told me he played football for Baylor, Green Bay Packers then later sent off to Vietnam. Kinda sad, he doesn't apparently even remember playing football.

Yes, there is that. But, if you really have the desire, you can improve to your own satisfaction. I mentioned earlier that I was "pretty good" at the guitar, and I was. But, I also knew I was pretty much not gonna' progress beyond a certain point. I used to play at my kiddos schools and Girl Scout camp and such, and it was very satisfying in that respect. But, mostly, I used to play for my own stress relief and self satisfaction, and, the skill level I had attained was good enough for me by that time. :)

One of the best shows ever. Every character was an integral part of the ensemble.
Almost every episode was a gem.

One of my favourites was "Fish Story" where Johnny gets more and more sober the more he drinks. After nine shots, Venus is nearly catatonic, and Johnny is nearly "normal".

Just had to chime in here. WKRP in Cincinnati was one of the funniest shows ever on tv. That particular episode you referenced above had me laughing so hard when I saw it, that tears were coming down my face. There were other "classic" episodes, too, but the "Fish Story" episode was even more hilarious than the turkeys one!!

Also has one of my favorite theme songs ever.

Please tell that to the squirrels around here. They seem to love to dig up most plants and crops for the roots.

I tried explaining to them that squirrels shouldn't do that...they do not listen me.

They are waking up and multiplying

This already surpasses my artistic ability.

She is 10 and surpasses most people's artistic ability (although she's not so good with the spelling). Drawing is a passion of hers - @Nemo14 saw her watch the guy in Downtown Disney draw people's names in watercolors for about an hour and a half (oh and we did relent - she has got her name just after you left).

She did these last year:

She's awesome! Wish I could draw, but it took me forever to learn to even draw Mickey. It's a real talent. Hope she sticks with it. :)

From a very young age she could copy pretty much anything she saw - she would pause the TV to draw characters in cartoons. She once drew Linnie from the Wonder Pets from her stuffed animal. I tried to explain to her how difficult that is but she has no concept. I like to think she will be an Imagineer once day.

I can draw a pretty good cartoon face and a pretty good cartoon pig head, but that's about it. The pig thing I made back in my "glory days" or art (aka 5th grade).
