Sure was. Though, it was my own fault. I was working from home yesterday, and we closed down all our locations at 3p. So, I had no reason to work so I decided to go to the grocery store which is 1.2 miles from my house to pick up stuff to make a 3bean chili recipe I'd picked up. The drive to Publix wasn't bad. Took about 15 minutes. But, that's because I was going against the grain of traffic. When I got there, Publix had just decided to close. So, I took an access road and a side road back to my house stopping by a gas station along the way. That leg of the trip was 1.9 miles and that's what took so long to get back.

I did make it to the gas station though, and thank goodness it was a QT. They have a really good hot dog setup there. So, I picked up a soda and two hot dogs and quite literally ate my dinner while waiting in traffic...for nearly 2.5 hours...to go about a mile.

Yeah, going to the store was a bad idea. :p

But, I did it to myself. In some ways it was actually relaxing. Getting to watch all the carnage, people not knowing how to drive in the snow, and I flipped through the radio several times.

I will admit, I did use my cel phone to play around on the wdwmagic site and other things while I waited...I don't think I endangered anyone with that. :p

I was quite literally driving with my brake pedal. I didn't have to touch the gas much at all. :p

Sounds like you took it in stride.

During college I spent days at Ohare where I worked without being able to leave. Half of us were there and the other half couldn't get in, so there we stayed. I handled unaccompanied minors, patrons with disabilities and VIPs. We didn't have any VIPs, the passengers with disabilities we had blocked hotel rooms for. It was those unaccompanied minors, mid leg of their trips, spent with me over their winter break at Ohare.

Stay warm up there guys, and you "deep Southerners" be careful on the roads.

And welcome to the "I Hate Winter" club.

It's 47 and rainy here in the sunshine state.

Just pulled out a gallon Ziploc bag. It is a 2 gallon Ziplock bag. What the heck? When did they start manufacturing 2 gallon bags?

I need to wear glasses when I'm shopping. :geek:

Nemo, you'll be proud of me. I just finished a math assignment! And now I'm off to do another math assignment. Although for this one, I get to read the Common Core State Standards (grades K-8) and get to write a reflection on it. Yippee!

So I definitely just read each and every word for the Standards of the 9 different grade levels.

Okay, so maybe I just skimmed the recap section and wrote a reflection based on that....

We have guests staying with us for a few days and we were trying to explain the Common Core Crap to them. We all agree that the world of education is nuts.
I dislike it, too. I was reading one article the other day by a teacher who is thinking about leaving the profession after 15 (or something like that) years because of all the "Common Core" and whatnot. She made some good points. Too concerned about taking multiple choice tests on the computer versus learning skills that will benefit a lifetime.

Definitely nuts, but I guess I'm choosing to go into it.
