Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I'm thinking of just staying home on Wednesday....that is if the city streets are even drivable.

Ours have turned from packed snow to packed ice. We are expecting -21 tonight with a windchill of -44.
We are also starting to get these type of snow rolls. The wind is blowing so hard that it is rolling the snow.

-15 and dropping here.

Push, please don't leave the house in this weather. Ten minutes outside will give your outer shell frostbite. Twenty minutes could be permanent damage.

For that matter, no one leaves the house tomorrow.

Solidarity!
I'll email this message to my professors, should classes not be cancelled. To be fair, it take me about 30 seconds to walk from the parking lot to the building, but still. Some people walk halfway across town.

I have these in my field but they look like a bunch of bowling balls. It's the aliens, not Meg this time.

That'll be the longest and coldest thirty seconds ever!

I honestly can't remember a January as cold as this one. Kinda scary, no?

I just let my dog out, and for some reason he wouldn't come in. o_O So I told him I wasn't going outside to get him in these temperatures and if he froze to death it would be his own fault.

Needless to say, he came in quite promptly after that.

My niece's dogs that we are taking care of here wouldn't go out the other day because it was "cold". wimpy Floridians!!

Mine won't go. And I'm not gonna force her.

Or yell if she pees on the floor. She has skinny legs and tiny paws and last time it was this cold (uh, last week) by the time she was done she was barely able to walk across the deck to get back inside, her paws were numb from the cold. I ran outside and picked her up twice. :(
