I'd be okay with the temps if I didn't have to leave the house. My morning will probably consist of "wake up, check to see if classes are cancelled, then go back to sleep if they are". That's how this morning went, and I'm not ashamed of it.

It was good! Thanks @trr1 for the recipe!
here is another
Lemon-Poppy Seed French Toast
Ingredients

Disposable slow cooker liner
12 ounces country-style bread, cut in 1-inch pieces (about 9 cups)
1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup lemon curd
4 cups milk
1/4 cup sugar
3 eggs or 3/4 cup refrigerated or frozen egg product, thawed
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Powdered sugar (optional)
Fresh raspberries, blueberries, and/or blackberries(optional)

Directions
  1. Line a 3-1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker with a disposable slow cooker liner. Place bread cubes in prepared slow cooker. In a large bowl beat together cream cheese and lemon curd with a wooden spoon until smooth. Whisk in milk, sugar, eggs, poppy seeds, almond extract, and salt. Pour mixture over bread cubes in cooker. Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours.
  2. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 7 to 8 hours or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Turn off cooker. Let stand for 30 minutes. Carefully lift liner from cooker, using a plate to transfer French toast to a cutting board. Slice French toast to serve. If desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with fresh berries.

We're doing Aida for Spring Musical. I am the 'interim' chorus teacher (for 2 years now) and the drama teacher picked the show. Not that I dislike it, but I just don't like teaching chorus very much. 20 years as band/orchestra director of a solid program with 2 full time instrumental teachers and what is my reward? The choral program falters and I get to take it over....
How many more years til retirement?

10 years left. Still absolutely love what I do (and may go well beyond 30 years in the classroom). I just know that teaching chorus is not what I'm good at and while the kids might enjoy it and learn something, somebody in the know could do much more. My bigger problem with it is that the time and energy needed to try to do something well that I am not comfortable with is taking a lot of time and energy away from the other things I teach. Hopefully this year's successes (has been a pretty good year and great recruiting) will mean we can hire a full time choral/piano person next year and I can get back to band/orchestra full time!

Thanks to all for the career therapy tonight!

I totally get what you're saying about that. DH and I are both retired teachers, and even though I know we still had (have) many years of teaching left in us, we both agree that we got out at the right time.

That's what my mother says. (Taught 4th grade 35 years) "I'm glad I retired when I did. You couldn't pay me enough to go back."
