Oh sure, now I feel like a terrible parent.Having her home doesn't bother me in the least. It's just the two of us and I've never been a "I can't wait for you to go back to school" parent.
Oh sure, now I feel like a terrible parent.
My boys genuinely hate each other, fight non-stop, and I count the minutes until one or the other of them leaves the house, even if only for a few hours.
The oldest one technically doesn't live here right now (living with four or five other guys until college starts in September) but he comes home at least one or two nights a week.
If I ever suddenly disappear from these boards, you'll know I had a stroke during one of these visits. One at a time - no problem. Both at home at the same time - shoot me.
I'm starting to get worried. My brother (the one closest in age to me) and I were done hating each other by this age.
Some people are nervous nellies.
Not to impugn us gals, but it's usually women who are nervous driving in bad weather.
That's 'cause we're smart.

34 degrees here right now, supposed to get down to 24.
And, on that note...
I'm outta' heeeeeeerrrrre...!!!
Yeah, a bit maybe.Yeah, the whole book reminds me of the basic plot of Everyone Loves Raymond. Marie can't let go.
We need some wampa repellent, ice scrabbler traps and different tauntaun lichen. Whatever you are feeding yours is making it's insides smell. (And only a Star Wars fan would get what the heck I just said.)
I might have misted up a bit when the first one started school.I love my kids with all my heart, but I was one of the few Mom's that wasn't crying at the Kindergarten door on the first day of school, I actually skipped home with rings on my fingers and bells on my toes.
My DS & DD never really fought but they had little in common 5 grades apart.
Yeah, a bit maybe.
The book predates the show by a full decade though.
I married the youngest of seven, and hubby's mom was just glad to hand him off to me, so she could enjoy her retirement.
She was a very hands off, non-interfering MIL, and I miss her dearly.
Mine are 4 years apart. I shed a tear when the older one started school, but jumped for joy when #2 did. Bad mommy....
I cried when we brought my daughter to college (DH cried all the way home - 4 1/2 hours! When we dropped DS off we were ready to have our "empty nest". I choked up a little, but it was much easier the second time around.
I've never heard of it till now.Are you familiar with the story?
It really is sweet, in a vaguely uneasy type of way.
(As an aside - someone, don't know who, purchased 4 copies of the book after the funeral, and had the author personalize and sign one each for me and my 3 brothers. They were delivered anonymously to the four of us.)
Robert Munsch is an American-born Canadian children's book author.I've never heard of it till now.
