75% of the flights at Cleveland Hopkins airport have been cancelled.

They were just talking about that on the noon news. Even if the snow isn't too bad tonight (which they still say it will be), they're expecting delays all over the country as planes are stuck in other places. Our friends have already had about a dozen people cancel on the engagement party tonight.

My sophmore year I was on crutches for two weeks and had to use the elevator with a key. That thing was so slow I got to leave each class ten minutes early to get to the next one on time. It didn't help my locker was on the fourth floor and all the good stuff (lunch, library, study hall) were on the first.
at least you guys got an elevator ;)

funny fact on the university I went to...
EVERY SINGLE TIME during hurricane season.. there would be at least 2-3 days of full university shut down due of floods.
and I mean REAL 1 meter deep (or deeper) flooding!.
Worst part? the road flooded first before the university, so the uni might be still open while we had to wade thru the rain.. we always joked about having to go via Kayak/canoe.

That's rough. It's so difficult to plan around mother nature.

I had my elevator pass for the entire four years of high school because of my asthma (I really only used it to go from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor on bad days...and senior year when kids suddenly thought spraying Axe in the stairwell was a brilliant idea:facepalm:). We had two elevators, new and old. The new was incredibly slow and broke down more frequently than the old (the irony). The old one I felt like I was going to be on Tower of Terror. Seriously, it took until Junior year until I would use that thing alone. Thankfully, we never used our lockers, so I was always on time, and if I wasn't, I had an excuse. The stupid elevator.

Actually, whenever the school nurse gave out passes for injuries, the pass says 10 minutes early, to give extra time but also to avoid being rammed in the halls.

I had a relative whose wedding was the same day a tropical storm was supposed to hit. My school closed in preparation and everything. They were giving out umbrellas at the rehearsal dinner.

It turned out to be sunny and warm.

My HS didn't have an elevator. But, it was also all only on one floor. ;)

All the HSs in NoCal had pools. Even quite a few of the JHs did, too.

My high school had an elevator, but the only thing that was on the second floor was the weight room. Everything else was on the first floor. In my old school district (where I only went to elementary school), the high school had a pool and was two stories. We had a swim lesson for gym class each year where we would bus over to the high school and stay for a couple hours for our gym class. That would be our only gym class of the week then, and we would have normal classes (along with music, art, etc) the rest of the week.
